 Unit 3 could you please clean your room?

(3) I think twohours of TV is enough for you!（不管多少小时作主语，谓语动词都用第三人称单数，其实就是说它指的是看电视时间这件事）

(4) But thehouse is already pretty clean and tidy!

2. 用could委婉地表示请求或许可。

语法讲解：1. Could you please clean your room? 记笔记，背诵

Could you please…? 请求别人做某事

这是could的一般疑问句，并非询问对方有无能力，而是向对方提出请求，有礼貌地请求允许干某事, 意思是“请你……,好吗?”。could是can的过去式，但在本句型中并不表示时间上的区别，而只有语气上的不同。could没有can那么肯定，而是较为委婉，使这种请求听起来显得更加客气，更含有尊敬的意味。如：

Could you please take out the rubbish? 能请你倒掉垃圾吗？

肯定回答: Of course. / Sure. / Certainly./Sure, I’d love to./ No problem. /With pleasure.   

否定回答: Sorry, I can’t.  / I’d love to ,but......   

注意: (1) 在进行实际回答中，要注意人称的对应。 

(2)这里Could是一种委婉、客气的礼貌用语，作肯定否定回答时，要用can, can’t来代替。
