NIGEL：Good afternoon. I believe that this is house is for sale.
IAN: That's right.
NIGEL：May I have a look at it, please?

1. I believe that this house is for sale. 我想这房子是要出售的吧。
A: 这是一个宾语从句，置于动词等后起宾语作用的句子叫做宾语从句。本句中I是主语，置于动词believe后面的句子，this house is for sale. 就是宾语部分，它又是一个完整的句子，因此这个句子就叫做宾语从句，that是连词，可以省略。如：
I believe that I can fly.
=I believe I can fly.
我相信我能飞翔。
believe表示相信，信任。believe in sb./sth.相信某人或某事。如：
Believe it or not, what I said just now is true.
信不信由你，我刚才说的是真的。
I believe in you.
我相信你。

B: sale名词，表示卖，销售。相关的词组有for sale待售，出售。on sale有售，上市。如：
The car is for sale at a negotiable price.
这辆车现在待售，价格可议。
A new type of mobile phone is on sale.
一款新型手机正在上市。
sell动词，表示卖，销售。相关的词组有sell out卖光。sell sb. out出卖某人。如：
The train tickets will sell out soon, if you don't hurry you'll miss the train.

2. How long have you lived here? 你在这里住了多长时间？
How long可对时间提问，表示多久，多长时间。也可以对距离提问表示多远。如：

3. I've been here since 1976. 从1976年起我就住在这里。
介词since表示自从，如：
It is nearly ten years since I came here.
我来这儿快两年了。
4. How much does it cost? 这座房子卖多少钱？
how much可以对价格提问，表示多少钱。也可以修饰不可数名词，表示多少？如：
How much is the rent per month?
一个月的租金是多少？
How much water is there in the bottle?
瓶子里有多少水？
cost表示花费金钱或时间，如：
This car cost me a lot of money.
买这辆车费了我不少钱。
Writing the book cost me a lot of time.
写这本书花费了我很多时间。
5. It's worth every penny of it. 它确确实实值这么多钱。
这就话的意思也就是说一分钱，一分货。如：
How do you think of the dress? It's worth every penny of it.
你觉得这条裙子怎么样？物有所值。
6. Women always have the last word. 女人总是最后说了算的。
have the last word最后拍板。如：
We can all make suggestions, but the manager has the last word.
