一、“as(否定句中可用so) adj／adv as …”，用于不同人或物同一性质之间的比较，意为“······和······一样”。在as ... as结构中，第一个as是副词，第二个as是连词。
You are as tall as your father. 你和你父亲一样高。
It’s not as hard as I thought. 这没有我想象的那么困难。
I can’t run as fast as I used to. 我不如以前跑得快了。
注：
（1）在非正式文体中，第二个as后可以用人称代词宾格形式来代替“主格 动词”，例：
She doesn’t sing as well as me. = She doesn’t sing as well as I do. 她唱歌没我唱得好。
（2） as ... as可表示同一个人或物不同性质的比较，意为“既······又······”，例：
Martin was as impatient as he was stubborn. 马丁既缺乏耐心又很顽固。
The confession was proved to be as absurd as it was false. 这份供词被证明是既虚假，又荒谬。
二、as ... as用于倍数表达，倍数置于第一个as之前，即，倍数 as ... as 其他。
You’re not half as clever as you think you are. 你的聪明连你自以为是的一半都没有。
It took three times as long as I expected to finish the work. 完成这项工作花的时间是我预计的三倍。
Some of the doctors are paid almost twice as much as the nurse. 有些医生的薪水几乎是护士的两倍。
三、当as ... as中间有名词时，用以下结构：as 形容词 a 单数名词 as；as many / much 名词 as。
I don’t want as / so expensive a cellphone as this. 我不想要这么贵的手机。
She has as good a voice as you. 她和你的嗓音一样好。
Take as much time as you like. 你想花多少时间就花多少时间。
They don’t hold with letting children watch as much TV as they want. 他们不赞成让孩子随心所欲看太多电视。
We want to expose the kids to as much art and culture as possible. 我们想让孩子们尽量受到艺术和文化熏陶。
We want to involve as many people as possible in the celebrations. 我们希望尽可能多的人参加庆典。
四、as much / deep / tall / late ... as 数量（表度量衡、时间）, 用以强调而非比较，意为“多达······，重达······，高达······”等。
You can fly to Paris for as little as 20 euros. 花区区20欧元你就可以飞到巴黎。
Some of these fish can weigh as much as 80 kg. 一些鱼重达80公斤。
There were as many as 200 people at the lecture. 听讲的有200人之多。
Frosts often occur as late as May. 往往到5月份还有霜。
As late as the 1950s, tuberculosis was still a fatal illness. 直到20世纪50年代，结核病仍然是一种致命的疾病。
五、as … as不表示比较的几个常见句型。
1．as quickly / much / soon / ... as possible尽可能······
Tell him as little as possible. 尽量少告诉他。
The doctor will see you again next week. Meanwhile, you must rest as much as possible. 医生下周还会给你看病。在此期间，你一定要尽可能多休息。
We would be grateful for your cooperation in clearing the hall as quickly as possible. 你们若大力协助尽快把大厅腾空，我们将不胜感激。
2．as soon as 引导时间状语从句，意为“一······就······”。
We’ll send you a copy as soon as it becomes available. 一有货我们就给你寄一本去。
I felt free from the cares of the day as soon as I left the building. 我一离开那栋大楼便觉得轻松自在，不再为那天的事烦心了。
3. as long as 引导条件状语从句，意为“只要”。
We’ll go as long as the weather is good. 只要天气好我们就去。
注：区别“和······一样久”。
We will fight for as long as it takes. 我们要一直斗争到底。
I haven’t known him as long as you (have known him). 我认识他的时间没有你长。
4. as far as用于如下表达：as far as I know / as far as I can remember / I can see / I can tell 据我所知 / 据我所记得的 / 依我看，as far as sb / sth is concerned就某人而言 / 就某事而论；至于某物。
As far as we knew, there was no cause for concern. 就我们所知，没有什么需要担心的。
As far as I can see, you have done nothing wrong. 依我看，你没有做错任何事。
She lived in Chicago, as far as I can remember. 据我所记得的，她过去住在芝加哥。
A far as I’m concerned, she can come home whenever she likes. 就我而言，她何时想回家就可以回家。
As far as money is concerned, there shouldn’t be a problem. 至于钱，应该没有问题。
注意：区别“远至；远达”。
We’ll go by train as far as London, and then take a bus. 我们坐火车到伦敦，然后转乘公共汽车。
The grassland stretched on all sides as far as the eye could see. 草原向四面伸展开去，一望无际。
5. as well as引出并列成分，意为“除······之外；也；还”。
You will always have the bad as well as the good in the world. 人生在世总有苦有甜。
Coursework is taken into account as well as exam results. 除考试结果外，课程作业也要计入成绩。
She is a talented musician as well as being a photographer. 她不但是个摄影师而且还是个天才音乐家。
注意：区别“和······一样好”。
She doesn’t play as well as her sister. 她演奏得不如她姐姐。
6. as good as用作固定短语，意为“几乎；简直是”。
The matter is as good as settled. 这事可以说解决了。
The summer is as good as over. 夏天差不多已经过去了。
He as good as called me a coward. 他就差说我是懦夫了。
注意：区别“和······一样好”。
I have seen most of his movies. Only a few are as good as his first one. 他的电影多数我都看过。只有少数几部能与他的第一部媲美。
