None , no one , nothing

none既可指人又可指物，意为“没有任何人或物；一个人也没有”，后可与of短语连用，作主语时，谓语动词用单数或复数均可。它通常用来强调数量之少，因而常用来回答how many或how much引起的问句。

None of them are ／is for the plan．他们当中没有一个人同意这项计划。

None of us have /has seen him. 

—How many books are there in the bag？书包里有多少书？ 

—None．一本也没有。

---How much money do you have on you?

---None 

---Is there any water in the thermos?

---None 

注意三点：

1. 可与of 连用，具体指什么人或物

2. 谓语动词单或复数

3. 暗示一种数量，即指数量上“一个也没有”，一般用来回答how many+ n, 

how much+ n 或any +n 引起的疑问句

 

no one ＝nobody意为“没有人”，用于指人，但不具体指什么人。不能用于指物，因而常用来回答who的提问和anyone，anybody引起的疑问句。它不能与of连用。

I found no one ／nobody in the house．我发现没有人在家里。 

—Who is in the room？房间里有谁？ 

—No one ／Nobody．没谁。

Is there anyone in the room?  No one

nothing只能指物，表示“没有什么（东西）”。它们不可与of短语连用，作主语时，谓语动词只能用单数. 注意三点：

1. 指物

2. 谓语动词单数

3. 一般用来回答含anything 的一般疑问句或what引起的特殊疑问句

---What is in the box?

---Nothing .

---Is there anything in the sky?

---Nothing.

---Can you seen anything without glasses?

---Nothing.
