Hot chocolate/cocoa

Many of us are used to eating chocolate, but few know that the treat was originally enjoyed as a drink. It is believed that hot cocoa was created by the Maya some 2,000 years ago before being introduced to the world at large and undergoing various changes. It’s an especially tasty drink to have when you’re hanging out in the outdoors or participating in winter sports like skating and skiing.
很多人都吃过巧克力,却鲜有人知道它最初被当做饮料享用。人们认为热可可是两千年前玛雅人发明的,随后传入世界各地,经历了各种各样的变化。出门在外,参加滑雪、滑冰等冬季运动时,热可可最是可口。

Ingredients: cocoa/chocolate powder, marshmallows (optional), sugar, milk powder
原料:可可/巧克力粉,棉花糖(可选),糖,奶粉

Directions:
制作方法:

1. Combine the cocoa/chocolate powder, with some water, and sugar.
1. 用水将可可/巧克力粉冲开,加糖;

1. Cook them over medium heat.
2. 中火加热;

3. Add milk and heat it, but avoid boiling.
3. 加入牛奶继续加热,注意不要沸腾;

4. Serve it up. Pour it in a mug or cup.

5. Top it with marshmallows if you like.

Hot ginger tea
热姜茶
With a spicy and invigorating flavor, ginger tea is not merely a drink, it can also be used to remedy indigestion, nausea and symptoms related to having a cold. After a semester’s hard work, it’s wise to relax and nourish your body.
味道辛辣提神的姜茶不仅可做饮料,还能缓解消化不良、恶心以及感冒症状。辛苦忙碌了一整个学期,适度的放松与保养身体才是明智之举。

Ingredients: water, fresh ginger root, dates, honey, brown sugar or lemon slices (optional)
原料:水,鲜姜,大枣,蜂蜜,红糖或柠檬片(可选)

Directions:
制作方法:

1. Cut ginger root into thin slices.
1. 姜切成薄片;

2. Add the ginger, dates, and brown sugar (optional), in the boiling water and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
2. 待水沸腾后,加入姜片、大枣、红糖(可选),小火煨15-20分钟;

3. Strain the tea. Add honey and lemon.
3. 滤出汤汁,加入蜂蜜或柠檬片。
