英语口语：“妻管严”你会用英语理解和表达吗？

如果你想学习英语“妻管严”时，你想学习的到底是什么？

1) 中文“妻管严”有：

1·谐音“气管炎”的“妻管严”(谐音口语：老婆管的严)，

2.有“怕老婆”(口语)的同义表达，

3.有“惧内”(书面语)的说法，

4.还有“母鸡司晨”(牝pìn 鸡司晨)的成语表达，

2) henpeck中的peck：

我们都学过woodpecker(啄木鸟)：It's a bird. A bird that pecks the wood or tree for worms inside for food(这点“英语口语”总应该会说)

To peck就是鸟类用嘴“啄，叮”something,or somebody，所以，当一只母鸡(a hen)在peck时，意思的形象表达不言自喻：a henpecking wife/girlfriend就是这么来的。

现在可以“用”英语“说”英语了。

3) “用”英语“说”英语：

1. If you have a henpecking wife/girlfriend, you have a bossy wife,or a bossy girlfriend.Or：You are a henpecked husband,or man in a relationship.

A henpecking wife/girlfriend= a bossy wife/girlfriend.

这就是“妻管严”，这就是“河东狮吼”，这就是“牝鸡司晨”，这就是“悍妇”。你就是“惧内”：a henpecked husband: You fear your wife, or girlfriend.You are afraid of your wife or girlfriend.

应该说a bossy wife/girlfriend跟fear your wife还是有区别：“悍”or“惧”？

2. His wife always runs the show in the family= He has a henpecking wife.

3. He has a nagging wife.还是=He has a henpecking wife.

4.When your wife naggs, or is naggy, she is always scolding you, or she is always finding fault with you,or she is always faultfinding.= You have a henpecking wife.

5.If you are henpecked by your wife or girlfriend, your wife is dominating you,or controlling you.

如同说中文“妻管严”并非只会说中文“妻管严”一样，“妻管严”并非总是henpeck,henpeck的：We also have many other ways to say：henpeck in English.
