　　本期为大家讲解两个词：the covers和worry。

　　1. the covers是被子、毯子等床上用品的总称，可以包括：

　　被子：quilt - a bed cover made by sewing layers of cloth together, usually with different colors sewn together to make a design

　　毯子：blanket - a large square or rectangular piece of thick cloth, especially one that you put on a bed to keep you warm

　　床单：sheet - a large rectangular piece of cotton or other cloth that you sleep on or cover yourself with in a bed

　　床罩：counterpane/bedspread - decorative cover for a bed

　　其中，毯子(blanket)和床单(sheet)还常常被用于比喻，如：

　　The mud disappeared under a blanket of snow.

　　泥地在一层白雪的覆盖下消失不见了。

　　More than a foot of snow blanketed parts of Michigan.

　　一英尺多厚的白雪覆盖了密歇根州的部分地区。

　　这里的blanket是动词，表示“覆盖”。blanket的“覆盖”含义可以进一步引申为“适用于全体的”，如：

　　There's already a blanket ban on foreign unskilled labor in Japan.

　　日本已经有一项禁止雇用一切外国非熟练工人的通用禁令。

　　sheet的用法和blanket有些类似：

　　The snow sheeted the head of the hill.

　　积雪罩住了山顶。

　　to sheet one's shyness 遮羞；sheeted dark clouds 大片乌云

　　2. worry表示“担心”，最常见用法是to worry about something和to worry+以that引导的从句

　　I worry about her constantly.

　　我一直在为她担心。

　　They worry that high interest rates are keeping the dollar too high.

　　他们担心高利率会使美元比值过高。

　　此外，还可以说It worries somebody that...

　　It worried her mother that she did not go back home.

　　她没有回家使她妈妈很担心。

　　be worried about something和be worried that...的用法也十分常见，意思相近的用法还有be afraid that...等。
