高考熟词生义“讲”与“练”

熟词生义现象是指学生对某些词的常用义很熟悉，但是它们在某一具体语境中的释义有时对学生而言是生僻、不熟悉的。这类词往往会给学生正确理解语篇带来困难，是学生需要重点学习和掌握的。掌握熟词生义不仅有助于学生正确理解语篇，还可以帮助学生在输出表达时提高词语使用的准确性和丰富性。

今天我们就来学习下高考中出现过的熟词生义吧。

1. around

【熟义】adv 在……周围

【生义】adv 存在着

The phenomenon of tracking celebrities has been around for ages. （2013 北京卷阅读理解C篇）

跟踪名人的现象已经存在很多年了。

2. cold

【熟义】adj 寒冷的

【生义】vt 冷漠的

But her cold voice really annoyed me. I sometimes wished to find another agent. （2016 全国卷II完形填空）

但是她冷漠的声音惹恼了我。有时我想另寻代理人。

3. complex

【熟义】adj 复杂的

【生义】n 建筑群；综合体

Bradford sold the building and land to a local development firm, which plans to build a shopping complex on the land where the theater is located. （2017 全国卷III阅读理解B篇）

布拉德福德把大楼和土地卖给了当地的一家开发商，这家开发商计划在电影院所在的这块地上建一个购物中心。

4. cover

【熟义】vt 覆盖；遮盖

【生义】vt 涉及；包括

The magazine covers the choices people make about their homes, their clothes and their free time activities. （2004 全国卷III阅读理解D篇）

这本杂志涉及人们关于房子、衣服和闲暇活动所做的选择。

5. draw

【熟义】vi&vt 绘画

【生义】vt 吸引

The exhibition shows how Dali draws the viewer between two infinities. （2015 全国卷I阅读理解C篇）

这次展览展示了达利如何在两个无限之间吸引观看者。

6. escape

【熟义】vi 逃跑

【生义】vt 避开；逃脱

His heart beat wildly, and without thinking he started to run and luckily escaped the cat’s paws. （2013 湖北卷完形填空）

他（老鼠）的心砰砰乱跳，不假思索地撒腿就跑，幸运地躲过了猫的爪子。

7. picture

【熟义】n 图画；照片

【生义】vt 想象；设想

Looking at the beef being cooked on the stove, the mother pictured the whole family having meals together. （2015 湖北卷完成句子）

看着炉子上炖着的牛肉，妈妈想象着一家人在一起吃饭的画面。

8. place

【熟义】n 位置；地点

【生义】vt 放置；安放

I placed the chick in the nest, and it quickly calmed down.  （2017 全国卷I阅读理解B篇）

我把雏鸟放到窝里，它很快平静了下来。

9. raise

【熟义】举起；增加

【生义】vt 抚养；养育

Modern parents raise children in a more scientific way. （2015 陕西卷阅读理解C篇）

现代父母以更科学的方法养育孩子。

10. rush

【熟义】v 迅速移动

【生义】vt 速送

I was rushed to hospital and had to stay there for weeks while the doctors fought to save my life. （2013 四川完形填空）

我被火速送到医院，不得不在那里待上数周，期间医生全力挽救我的生命。

11. secret

【熟义】n 秘密

【生义】n 秘诀；诀窍

The secret to education lies in respecting the pupil. （2013 浙江卷阅读理解D篇）

教育的秘诀在于尊重学生。

12. ship

【熟义】n 大船

【生义】vt 运送

Since 2004, they have shipped more than 12,200 books to preschoolers in their area. （2011 山东卷阅读理解B篇）

从2004年以来，他们已给他们所在地区的学龄前儿童送了12 200多本书了。

13. hide

【熟义】n 隐藏；隐蔽

【生义】vt 掩饰；隐瞒

He tried to hide his obvious pleasure from the music teacher. （2017 江苏卷完形填空）

他试图掩饰自己明显的喜悦之情，不想让音乐老师看到。

14. work

【熟义】vi 工作 

【生义】vi 奏效；起作用

I found the pre-holidays a good time to encourage young children to donate less-used things, and it worked. （2018 全国卷III阅读理解D篇）

我发现节前是一个很好的时机，可以鼓励孩子捐赠一些不常用的东西，而且效果很好。

15. serve

【熟义】vi 招待顾客

【生义】vi & vt 提供 / 端上饭菜

Put the whole fish on a plate and steam it in a steam pot for 8 to 10 minutes if it weighs about one pound. Then, it’s ready to serve. （2016 全国卷III阅读7选5）

把整条鱼放在盘子里，如果是重约1磅的鱼，放在气锅里蒸8—10分钟就可以准备端上桌了。
