时间与爱情（故事）

Once upon a time, there was an island where all the feelings lived:

曾几何时，所有的情感都居住在一个岛屿上：

 

Happiness, Sadness, Knowledge, and all of the others, including Love.

幸福，悲伤，知识还有其他的，包括爱情。

 

One day it was announced to the feelings that the island would sink, so all constructed boats and left. Except for Love.

有一天，这座岛屿要沉下去了，所有的情感们都开始建造船只准备离开。但爱情却没有。

 

Love was the only one who stayed. Love wanted to hold out until the last possible moment.

爱情是唯一一个留下的。爱情想要坚持到最后一秒。

 

When the island had almost sunk, Love decided to ask for help.

当岛屿几乎完全被淹没的时候，爱情决定向别人求助。

 

Richness was passing by Love in a grand boat. Love said, "Richness, can you take me with you?"

富有驾着一艘宏伟的大船从爱情身边驶过。爱情说：”富有，你可以把我带走吗？“

 

Richness answered, "No, I can't. There is a lot of gold and silver in my boat. There is no place here for you."

富有回答，”不，我不能。我的船上有很多金银珠宝，已经没有你的容身之地了。“

 

Love decided to ask Vanity who was also passing by in a beautiful vessel.

爱情决定向刚好经过的虚荣心求救，他也有一艘漂亮的大船。

"Vanity, please help me!"

“虚荣心，请你救救我！”

"I can't help you, Love. You are all wet and might damage my boat," Vanity answered.

“我不能救你，爱情。你已经浑身湿透可能会毁了我的船的，”虚荣心答道。

 

Sadness was close by so Love asked, "Sadness, let me go with you."

悲伤在爱情身边穿过，爱情问，“悲伤，让我和你一起走吧。”

"Oh . . . Love, I am so sad that I need to be by myself!"

“噢......爱情，我太悲伤了，我只能独自一人！”

 

Happiness passed by Love, too, but she was so happy that she did not even hear when Love called her.

幸福也从爱情身边经过，但他很高兴，因为他并没有听到爱情向他求救。

 

Suddenly, there was a voice, "Come, Love, I will take you."

突然，一个声音说道，“来吧，爱情，我会带你一起走。”

It was an elder. So blessed and overjoyed,

那是一位长者。看起来非常和颜悦色，

Love even forgot to ask the elder where they were going.

爱情甚至忘了问他们要去哪里。

When they arrived at dry land,

the elder went her own way. Realizing how much was owed the elder,

Love asked Knowledge, another elder, "Who Helped me?"

她问另一位长者——知识，“谁帮助了我?”

"It was Time," Knowledge answered.

“是时间，”知识答道。

"Time?" asked Love. "But why did Time help me?"

“时间？”“但他为什么要帮我呢？”爱情又问。

Knowledge smiled with deep wisdom and answered, "Because only Time is capable of understanding how valuable Love is."

知识若有所思的笑了笑，回答道，“因为只有时间才有能力了解爱情真正的价值所在！”
