光绪元宝是清朝光绪年间流通的货币之一。由湖北两广总督张之洞率先引进英国铸币机器铸造银元和铜元，之后各省纷纷仿效。共有十九个省局铸造，除中央户部，地方省所铸铜元，皆在其正面上缘镌写省名。

Guangxu Yuanbao was one of the currencies circulated during the period of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty. After the introduction of the British Mint machine by the governor of Guangdong and Guangxi, silver coins and copper coins were cast. There are nineteen provincial bureaus casting. Except for the central household department, the copper coins cast by local provinces are all inscribed on the upper margin of their fronts.

此枚钱币为江南省造光绪元宝当制钱十文铜元，直径2.8厘米，正面珠圈内镌有光绪元宝，上环镌有江南省造，左右两边镌有葵卯，标明其铸造年代，下环镌有币值“每元当制钱十文”，钱币背面镌有飞龙戏珠图，上下皆镌有英文。钱币包浆醇厚自然，流通痕迹明显，龙鳞清晰。虽然历经无情岁月的洗礼，但依然保存完好。

This coin is made in Guangnan province. The coin is ten yuan copper coin, 2.8 centimeters in diameter, and the gold bead is engraved in the positive bead ring. The upper ring is made of Jiangnan Province, and the left and right sides are decorated with Kwai Mao, indicating its casting age. The lower ring is engraved with a currency value of "ten yuan per yuan for making money". The purse is mellow and natural, with obvious circulation traces and clear dragon scales. Despite the baptism of ruthless years, it is still well preserved.

光绪元宝是大清光绪年流通大面值货币之首，是我国首批引进海外技术的印发流通货币，对于现今也蕴藏了一定历史意义。是价值很高的革命文物，有着深远的历史纪念意义；同时还是考古和研究中国历史文化难得的实物。

Guangxu Yuanbao is the first large denomination currency circulated in Guangxu year of the Great Qing Dynasty. It is the first circulation currency to introduce overseas technology in China. It also has certain historical significance for today. It is a revolutionary cultural relic with high value and profound historical significance. It is also a rare object of Archaeology and study of Chinese history and culture.
