兄妹一家亲--乔治和蜜雪儿的争论

George and Michelle are siblings. A popular band is playing at the opening of a new nightclub in a nearby city. Both George and Michelle want to go, but George thinks that girls should not be out so late. Listen as they argue and push their own points of view.

Michelle: Are you going out?

George: Yeah, I’m meeting some of my friends later and we’re going to go to the new club that’s opening tonight.

Michelle: You mean “The Apocalypse”?

George: Right. It’s supposed to be a great place. Tonight is going to be amazing because the Chemical Brothers are playing!

Michelle: I didn’t know you were going.

George: And the opening act is Grooverider! The tickets cost an arm and a leg but it’ll be worth it.

Michelle: I don’t get paid until next week. Do you think you could lend me some cash so I could buy a ticket?

George: You can’t go! Mom and Dad would have a fit!

Michelle: So, I won’t tell them. I’ll just say I’m staying at Amanda’s tonight. So, can you spot me the money?

George: No way. The show starts at 1 am. I don’t want you out that late. It’s not safe.

Michelle: Wait a minute. It’s not safe? So, why are you and your friends going?

George: That’s completely different.

Michelle: How is it different?

George: You’re a girl. Girls are more vulnerable and get into trouble easily.

Michelle: Did you just say what I think you said? This isn’t the fifties, you know. Women can do everything men can. I’m over eighteen – I’m an adult! I’m going with you and that’s final.

George: Excuse me? What makes you think I would take you?

Michelle: The club is more than a forty-five minute drive from here.

George: What does that have to do with anything?

Michelle: I have the car keys!

乔治和蜜雪儿是兄妹。一个热门乐团要在附近城里一家夜总会的开幕典礼上表演。乔治和蜜雪儿两人都想去，但是乔治认为女孩子不应该那么晚了还在外面逗留。请听他们互相争论与进一步发表自己的看法。

蜜雪儿：你要出去吗？

乔治：对，我等一下要跟我的一些朋友碰面，我们要去今天晚上开张的新俱乐部。

蜜雪儿：你是说“启示录”？

乔治：对，那应该是个很棒的地方。今天晚上的表演应该会很令人惊奇，因为“化学兄弟”要表演！

蜜雪儿：我不知道你要去。

乔治：然后由“音轨骑师”开场！门票非常贵，但是会很值得。

蜜雪儿：我要到下个礼拜才领得到薪水。你可以借我一些钱，让我买门票吗？

乔治：你不能去！爸妈会气死的。

蜜雪儿：所以我不会告诉他们啊。我就说今晚我要到阿曼达家过夜。那么你可以借我钱了吗？

乔治：不行。表演在凌晨一点开始。我不想让你在外面待到那么晚。那不安全。

蜜雪儿：等一下。那不安全？那么，你和你的朋友为什么要去？

乔治：这完全是两回事。

蜜雪儿：为什么是两回事？

乔治：你是女孩子。女孩子比较容易受伤害，比较容易惹上麻烦。

蜜雪儿：我没有听错吧？你知道这不是50年代了！男人可以做的事，女人一样可以做。我已经过了18岁，我是成年人了！我要跟你一起去，就这么决定了。

乔治：不好意思哦。你为什么认为我会带你去？

蜜雪儿：那家俱乐部从这里开车过去要花45分钟以上。

乔治：那又怎样？

蜜雪儿：车钥匙在我手上！
