[育儿心经]好品行十一条

不久前我的一个同事与我分享了一份很有意义的材料--美国童子军的守则（US Boy ScoutLaw）。我把这份材料作为我教孩子的家庭教材，让孩子读，讲解。今年夏天，送孩子去本地中文学校，我把这份材料带去请老师用来督促孩子检视自己行为。为避免其他家长因宗教信仰不同而抱怨，我在不影响原意的基础上去掉了宗教内容，并译成中文。老师很喜欢，觉得其他孩子也可用。在此与大家分享这份材料。

原文有十二条。第十二条为纯宗教内容，去掉后成了现在的十一条。改写后的英文标题为“To Be A Good Person”。

好品行十一条
可信
讲真话，守承诺。诚实是我的行为准则，我为他人所信任。

忠诚
忠实于祖国、家人和朋友、以及学校和老师。

助人
关心他人，乐于帮助，不计回报。

友好
与天下人为友。理解他人，尊重不同意见。

礼貌
礼貌待人，不因年龄地位而异。善上若水，易与他人相处。

善良
柔于面，刚于心。己所不欲，勿施于人。

律己
守家规，识校纪，尊国法。对不合理之规定，不可抵制，而应循序促改。

乐观
阳光心态，积极完成任务。充满热情，给他人带来欢乐。

节俭
克己奉人，未雨绸缪。保护资源，善用时间和财产。

勇敢
克服畏惧，勇敢面对危险。直陈胸臆，无畏于嘲讽威胁。

整洁
健于身，洁于灵。与身心健康者为伍，助社区环境整洁。


To Be A Good Person
(Tailored from “U.S. Boy Scout Law”)

TRUSTWORTHY
To be a good person, I tell the truth. I keep my promises. Honesty is part of my code of conduct.
People can depend on me.

LOYAL
To be a good person, I am true to my family, teachers, friends, school, and nation.

HELPFUL
To be a good person, I am concerned about other people. I do things willingly for others without pay or reward.

FRIENDLY
To be a good person, I am a friend to all. I seek to understand others and respect those with ideas other than my own.

COURTEOUS
To be a good person, I am polite to everyone regardless of age orposition. I know good manners make it easier for people to get alongtogether.

KIND
To be a good person, I understand there is strength in being gentle. I treat others as I want to be treated.

OBEDIENT
To be a good person, I follow the rules of my family, school, and groupI belong to. I obey the laws of my community and country.  If I thinkthese rules and laws are unfair, I try to have them changed in anorderly manner rather than disobey them.

CHEERFUL
To be a good person, I look for the bright side of things. I cheerfully do tasks that come my way. I try to make others happy.

THRIFTY
To be a good person, I work to pay my way and to help others. I savefor unforeseen needs. I protect and conserve natural resources. Icarefully use time and property.

BRAVE
To be a good person, I can face danger even if I am afraid. I have thecourage to stand for what I think is right even if others laugh at orthreaten me.

CLEAN
To be a good person, I keep my body and mind fit and clean. I go aroundwith those who believe in living by these and same ideals. I help keepmy home community clean.
