There once was a lion who was too lazy to hunt for his food. He pretended to be very sick and announced to all the animals that he was soon to die.
从前有一只狮子，他非常懒，不愿意自己捕猎。于是他假装生了重病，对所有的动物们宣称他很快就要死了。
'Please,' he said, 'come visit me in my cave and say goodbye to me.'
“拜托你们了，”他说，“来我的洞里，给我道别吧！”
The lion looked so weak and helpless, the animals felt sorry for him. One by one the visitors came. One by one, the lion ate them!
狮子看上去很虚弱无助，动物们都很同情他。访客们一个个的到洞里去看他，结果都被他一个个的吃掉了。
When the fox arrived to pay his last respects, he stopped in front of the cave's entrance and looked closely at the ground.
狐狸也来到了狮子的洞穴，准备跟他告别，然而他在洞口停下了，他仔细地检查了下地面。
'Come in quickly, I am dying!' cried the sly lion, impatiently.
“快进来啊，我要死了！”狡猾的狮子不耐烦地吼叫道。
'No,' said the clever fox, 'I will not go in and see you, because I can see many footprints going into your cave, but NONE are coming out!'
“不，”聪明的狐狸说 ，“我不会进去看你的。因为我看到很多进去的脚印，但是没有一个出来的。”
