One evening, Jess reads the story of Jack and the Beanstalk.

“Wow,” thinks Jess. “Jack was very lucky.” At suppertime, Jess is eating beans and thinking about the story. She sees a golden bean on her fork! “A golden bean! It is a magic bean like Jack’s!” she says.

有一天晚上，杰西读了杰克和豆茎的故事。

“哇,”杰西认为。“杰克很幸运。吃晚饭的时候，杰西一边吃着豆子一边想着这个故事。她看见叉子上有一颗金色的豆子!“黄金豆!它是一颗像杰克的魔豆!”她说。

Jess plants her magic bean in a flowerpot on her balcony. Then she goes to bed. In the middle of the night, Jess hears a noise. The noise sounds like: “Thump, Thump, Thump!” She runs to the balcony.

杰西在她阳台上的花盆里种植了魔力豆。然后她上床睡觉了。半夜，杰西听到了一个声音。声音听起来像:“砰，砰，砰!”她跑到阳台上。

There is no beanstalk. Jess is very disappointed. But she still hears the noise. Jess looks down. There is a huge root. It grows through the floor of the balcony. It goes through the ground too.

“Where is the bean root going? I’d better go down it and see.”

没有豆茎。杰西很失望。但她仍然听到了噪音。杰西往下看了看。有一个巨大的根。它生长在阳台的地板上。它穿过了地面。

“豆根去哪儿了?”我最好下去看看。”

She slides down the bean root. At last, she lands on the ground. It’s very dark. Jess starts to feel afraid. She sees a cave and goes towards the cave. In the middle of the cave there is a huge castle. But it looks very old. A giant is sleeping in a chair by the fire.

她沿着豆根滑了下去。最后，她降落在了地上。非常黑暗。杰西开始感到害怕。她看到了一个山洞，就向山洞走去。在洞穴的中央有一座巨大的城堡。但是它看起来很旧。一个巨人正在火炉边的椅子上睡觉。
