成员是比扬·乌尔维斯（Bjorn）、班尼·安德林（Benny）、阿格尼莎·法尔茨考格（Agnetha）和尼弗利德林斯迈德（Annifrid），两位姑娘和两位小伙子，又恰恰是搭档和情侣，乐队的名字就取自他们四人名字的第一各字母。
《The Winner Takes It All》（胜者为王/胜者拿走一切）是ABBA组合代表作之一。有人说这首歌在阐述Bjorn与Agnetha离婚后的哀伤心情，但数年后Bjorn指出：“在离婚的过程中，是不会有贏家的”。
而更多人认为《The Winner Takes It All》是ABBA自认为最完整的作品，Bjorn仅花了一个小时就完成了歌词，这也是Agnetha个人最喜爱的一首歌。
