今日晨读

Tom finished school when he was eighteen years old.

汤姆十八岁就完成了学业。

He wanted to work at a bank in the city.

他想在这座城市的一家银行工作。

He went to the bank and asked for work there. 他去银行找工作。

A man took him into a small room and gave him questions on a piece of paper.

一个人把他带到了一个小房间，给他了一张纸条，上面有一个问题。

Tom wrote the answers on the paper in a hurry.

汤姆匆忙地在纸上写了答案。

The man looked for a few minutes and then said, “Was your birthday on the 12th of December, Tom?”

那个人看了几分钟然后说，“你的生日是12月12日吗，汤姆？”

“Yes, sir.” Tom said. “是的, 先生。”汤姆说。

“What year?” the man asked. “哪一年的呢？”那个人问。

“Oh, once a year, sir,” Tom said. “哦，一年一次，先生。”汤姆回答。
