good到底有多好

在英语中，good 一直是别人家的“好”，好得透实而彻底，却是一个被低估的单词，其实good 的“好”不止一面。让我们细数一下good的千般好。

         一、高质量或符合某个标准的“好”：

           The car was wearing out and no longer in a good condition.        

这辆汽车在磨损，状况不再良好。

         二、令人愉快或满意的“好”：

We are still able to keep in touch with each other, though, which is good.

不过我们仍然能够保持联系，这令人感到安慰。

         三、合情合理或有根据的“好”：

       You had good reason to behave like that yesterday.

你昨天有充分的理由这么做。

         四、能干的或精通的“好” ：

          Tom has always been good at reserving cheep rooms.

         五、善于应付的或精明的“好”：

           She's very good with the old.

It was very good of you to help me out when I'm in deep water.

           I won't get you some ice cream if you're not good.

      It's probably good for you to get some criticism now and then.

           This suggestion is no good to me. I need something aggressive.

           She would be good for this position.

她很适合这个职位。

十一、相当大或相当多的“好”：

           There are still a good few tickets available.

The dining room is a good size.

It's good ten miles to the airport.

其实 good 的实际用法还不止这些， 特别是在一些习语中，如:

(1)good money大笔的钱，辛苦挣来的钱

Chinese parents usually pay good money for education.

I have had several boots, I can't afford any more-I'm not made of money.
