Maintaining a relationship is really not that easy, no matter what phase of life you are in.
As far as I'm concerned, the key is to not ask for anything in return. For example, after your quarrels, both of you should take the initiative to apologize to or humor each other. Also, we should avoid being drama queens or being too high maintenance.
Sometimes. people tend to dwell on the who is right or who is wrong, which I think is completely meaningless. I personally feel acknowledging each other's feelings is the most important.
Finally, I'd like to share my personal motto with regards to keeping a happy relationship: Happy wife, happy life. It's that simple!
