Today I am gonna talk about some things you might encounter on your way to work or school.

可能会用到的一些单词或短语：

出门再次检查一下东西有木有带。再次检查叫 double check

骑车 ride a bike 坐公车 take the bus 坐地铁 take the subway

早晨的路上人多车多。你肯定会 face the hustle and bustle of the morning commute.

闯红灯 Jaywalk 。这个单词也表示在没有斑马线的地方乱穿马路。

在地铁上或者公车上，有些不守规矩的人在上下地铁（公车）时会推推搡搡。Push and shove

在地铁上或者公车上，几乎所有人都在闷头看手机，根本不care周围的事物。这种低头现象我们可以称为 phubbing。

下面我就聊聊我在上班路上的那些事儿：

Every day, before I leave for work, I must double check if I brought my keys. Cuz you know, nobody likes the taste of being locked out.

Fortunately, my home is just one block away from the subway station. Unfortunately, I still need to spend 10 minutes walking there. Mostly because I have to battle the hustle and bustle of the morning commuters. Also, I never jaywalk since everybody should observe the traffic rules.

I have mixed feelings about the subway. I love its speed and convenience, but I hate its environment occasionally. You know, some people who don’t have a sense of social responsibility like to push and shove when they get on and get off, which really infuriates me.

But I have to accept that reality. Cuz you can't have your cake and eat it too!
