Can a baby be slapped? What result may it cause? Since a video of “Paida on a 5-month-old baby” was posted on Sina Weibo on Oct. 11, 2016, there have been widespread and different voices about it, some highly praised, while the others strongly condemned. Some people say, it’s great, kids could be saved! However, some others doubt the baby is their own, and slapping this way would cause disease or even lead to death.
The guardian, grandmother of the baby is now participating in Hong Kong PaidaLajin Workshop and talking about Paida on the baby and the effect in order to ensure a correct understanding of the facts.
According to our experience, the baby actually enjoys being slapped much, and she has very good sleep after being slapped.
We all live in Vancouver and came back to Shanghai in late July this year. The temperature was higher in Shanghai than in Vancouver. We were not acclimatized and our 5-month-old baby had a cold. My son-in-law got his Doctoral degree in biology in France, but didn’t believe PaidaLajn at all firstly. Finally he was convinced with the data and facts. We just slapped Dazhui acupoint area on the baby, and the symptom relieved greatly, the cold went away completely. Same was done to have healed baby’s cough on another occasion.
It is miraculous that babies enjoy being slapped very much as some of our adults, but there are no specific standards for the duration and intensity a baby should be slapped, the guardians should observe the facial expression and actual situation carefully, let him/her feel comfortable, or he/she will stay away or cry.
