尤其大多被领养的都是被遗弃的小孩，他们有的家境困难，有的亲人早逝，有的意外走失，有的则是逃离了原生家庭的“魔窟”......对于新的家庭，并不是所有的小孩儿都有勇气去融入。

Adopt

寄养家庭
Foster home
A place that operates by taking in children from their homes due to the lack of care or abuse of their parents.
这附近有一个寄养家庭，我们捐点钱给他们吧。
Some foster homes rely entirely on volunteers.
有些寄养家庭完全依靠志愿者。

孤儿院
Orphanage
A place that takes in children with no parents or children whose parents have abandoned them.
我直到18岁才离开孤儿院，没人想要我，因为我太咄咄逼人了。
We should give more money to orphanages so they can raise children with good food and in clean surroundings.
我们应该给孤儿院更多的钱，这样他们就可以用好的食物和干净的环境来养育孩子。

Biological parents

Guardian
A person who has the legal right and responsibility of taking care of someone who cannot take care of himself or herself, such as a child whose parents have died.

I was the guardian of Sarah for several years until her biological parents decided they wanted her back.
我当了Sarah好几年的监护人直到她的亲生父母决定把她找回去。
