作品介绍
莽人的 N 村紧邻中越两国的界山。每逢夏秋时节，季风带来的降水引发山洪，会将山上老林中的树木冲到村庄旁。2019年3月22日傍晚到23日凌晨，我扛着一条被洪水冲到下游的原木，沿着河流上溯，将它送回了源头的瀑布下。这里也就是国境线的所在。
关于艺术家
程新皓，1985年出生于云南。2013年毕业于北京大学化学与分子工程学院，获博士学位。现作为艺术家工作生活于云南昆明，以录像、装置、写作等方式，关注中国背景下的现代化、知识建构和空间生产等问题；并以身体为媒介，建构个人体感与特定历史时空之间的连接。

About the artwork
Village N, locates on the border area where Mang people live, is situated on the foot of the boundary mountain between China and Vietnam. During the rainy season, trees are pushed out of the ferocious flooded river and washed up to the village downstream because of the mountain torrents caused by monsoon rain. On the 22nd March 2019, from the evening to the morning of the next day, I was carrying a trunk swept down the river in mountain torrents, following the river up and taking it back to the headwaters nourished by a fall. It is where the borderline crosses.
About artist
Cheng Xinhao was born in Yunnan (China) in 1985. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Peking University in 2013. He is working as an artist in Yunnan now. With videos, installations and article writing, his works investigate the issues in the modernization, the construction of knowledge as well as the production of space in Chinese society. He also adopts his body as a medium to build the connection between personal affect and specific historical narratives and places.
