英音or美音?读准这些单词再说~

相信有不少的烤鸭都以为英语的世界中只存在着英音和美音的差别。当别人纠正自己的发音的时候,查字典发现:咦,词典上明明是这么发的呀!我哪里有错了?啧啧,这个纠正我的人真是该打脸!


但是,烤鸭不知道的是,其实在英语中居然也有多!音!字!!有些单词的形容词,动词和名词的读音根本就是不是一个样的~ 下面圈哥就带大家来盘点一下,这些读不准丢脸丢到国外的多音字:


Live

[l?v] v. 生活,居住,经历,度过

I’ve been living in this city more for than a decade.

[la?v] adj 现场直播的,精力充沛的;adv. 在现场,实况地

I like watching the live show. It is so exciting.


Perfect

[?p?(r)? f?kt] adj. 完美的, 优秀的; n.完成时;

This dress is perfect. It goes so well with your shoes.

[p?(r) ?fekt] v. 使完善; 使完备 ; 使完美;

When people describe about their spouses, then always say that is the one who perfects them.


Present

[?preznt] adj.  现在的,目前的;n. 现在,目前

At present, I have no chance of winning the game without his help.

[pr?‘zent] v. 提出,出现,瞄准

When we reached the destination, a picturesque landscape presented itself to us.


Record

[?rek?:d] n. 唱片, 记录, 档案, 履历

The athlete broke the record which was set decades ago.

[r??k?:d] v. 记录,记载,标明, 录音;  adj. 创纪录的

Make sure you record every word you say when you are having an important conversation with someone.


Increase

['??kri?s] n. 提高, 增长,增加量;

Homelessness is on the increase (= increasing).

[?n'kri?s] v. 增加,增大,增多;

The population has increased from 1.2 million to 1.8 million.


Resume

[r?'zju:m] v. 继续,重新开始

The trial will resume on August the first.

['rezju:me?]  (résumé) 简历,摘要

Every undergraduate needs to beautify their resumes in order to impress the HR.


Wind

[w?nd] n. 风,气流,管乐器;

The wind is blowing from the south.

[wa?nd] v. 蜿蜒; 缠绕; 上发条;

He had forgotten to wind his watch.

注意unwind (放松,解开),wind down (放松,慢下来), wind up (以...告终) 中wind的发音也是/waind/


Digest

[?da?d?est] n. 文摘,摘要

My teacher requires a short digest in my graduation dissertation.

[da??d?est] v. 消化,吸收

Some students might need more time to digest the information.


Desert

[?dez?(r)t] n. 沙漠

I dreamed that I got stuck in a huge desert with no end.

[di?z?(r)?t] v. 舍弃,逃跑

She was deserted by her husband.


Contrast

[?k?ntrɑ:st] n. 对比,对照,差异,对立面;

In contrast, most women are controlled by their emotions.

[k?n?trɑ:st] v. 对比,对照

We contrast the previous statistic of social employment rate.


Converse

[?k?nv?:s] adj. 相反的,颠倒的;n. 相反的事物

What you’ve done would come back to you one day, and the converse is also true.

[k?n?v?:s] v. 谈话

It was a pleasure to converse with him.
