每年，联合国寻求招募那些准备好以国际公务员作为职业的合格候选人。青年专业人员项目（YPP）旨在通过每年举办的入职考试为联合国引进新的人才。
今年笔试定于12月4日举行。考试将设六个专业：经济事务、人权、信息技术、摄影、政治事务和广播电台制作（阿语、中文、斯瓦希里语、俄语和西班牙语）。

报名
报考时间从2014年6月14日开始到8月27日结束（美国东部标准时间当日晚11:59）。有意报考人员请登陆联合国招聘网站查询详细信息：网址为https://careers.un.org
本次考试将按照招考专业分阶段进行报名：
6月14日-8月13日，信息技术和政治事务专业接受报名；
6月21日-8月20日，经济事务和广播电台制作（阿语、中文、斯瓦希里语、俄语和西班牙语）专业接受报名；
6月27日-8月26日，人权和摄影专业接受报名。
重要提示：
1.超过规定的报名时段提交的报名材料以及不完整的申请均不会被接受；
2.考生报名后将收到联合国予以确认的电子邮件。入围笔试的申请人将收到一个准考证号码；
3.请准确地完全填附和更新所有信息。这些信息将作为评估你参加考试的资格和是否合格的依据。请注意，报名材料一旦提交，将无法进行修改。

考试
考试将测试你的综合知识、分析思考能力和写作能力。
1．笔试部分包括两部分：
一般性考卷：这部分试题在所有专业考试中是一样的。主要测试你对国际事务的了解以及写作能力。可选择用英语或法语来答题。
专业考卷：这部分试题旨在测试你的专业知识和分析思考能力。可选用联合国6种官方语言的其中一种答题。
笔试将进行4个半小时。考卷将被密封在匿名的状态下判卷。
2．如果你通过笔试，你将被邀请参加口试，接受“以胜任能力为测评基础的面试”。
2012年，我们收到超过41,000个考试申请，其中有4,500名考生参加考试。每个专业有大概10至50名考生最后被邀请参加面试。因此，我们的建议是：针对考试进行妥善准备将大有益处！
通过考试后的招聘程序
通过考试的人数由空缺职位的数量决定。每年，有满足空缺职位以及附加10%备选名额数量的考生通过考试。储备库名单的有效期为两年。虽然得到工作的几率很高，但通过考试并不意味着确保你能得到一份工作。对通过考试的候选人的招聘是持续进行的，但职位安排是根据联合国相关规定每季度进行的。只要你通过考试，一旦有空缺的青年专业人员职位，你将被考虑其中。你将在面试时有机会选择工作地点以及职能。虽然我们将尽力满足你的选择，但意愿有可能、也可能不能得到满足。

Participation in the programme
Every year the United Nations seeks highly qualifiedcandidates who are ready to launch a professional career as aninternational civil servant. The young professionals programme(YPP) is a recruitment initiative that brings new talent to theUnited Nations through an annual entrance examination. This year weare holding the exam on 4 December 2014 in Economic Affairs, HumanRights, Information Systems and Technology, Photography, PoliticalAffairs, Radio Producers(Arabic/Chinese/Kiswahili/Russian/Spanish).
Do you hold at least a first-level university degree?
Do you speak either English and/or French fluently?
Are you a national of a participating country?
Are you 32 or younger by the end of this year?
The above are the basic eligibility requirements toparticipate in the young professionals programme.
Applications
The application periods for the examination will run from 14June 2014 through 27 August 2014 (11:59 PM EST) through the UnitedNations Careers Portal http://careers.un.org – in a staggered wayas follows:
14 June to 13 August: Information Systems and Technology, andPolitical Affairs,
21 June to 20 August: Economic Affairs and Radio Production(Arabic/Chinese/Kiswahili/Russian/Spanish);
27 June to 26 August: Human Rights and Photography

The examination
The examination itself tests your substantive knowledge,analytical thinking, and your drafting abilities.
The written examination consists of two papers:
The General Paper, which is the same for all job families,tests your knowledge of international affairs and draftingabilities. It can be drafted in either English or French.
The Specialized Paper, tests your substantive knowledgecorresponding to the job family you are taking the exam in and youranalytical thinking; it can be taken in any of the six UN officiallanguages.
The written examination lasts a total of four and a halfhours. Examinees’ responses are marked anonymously by a panel ofmarkers for the General Paper and by the Specialized Board Membersfor the Specialized Paper.
2. If, you are successful in the written portion of theexam, you will be invited to take part in the oral portion of theexam which consists of a competency-based interview.
In 2012, we had more than 41,000 applicants, and more than4,500 candidates who sat for the exam. Out of those, a small numberof about 10 to 50 candidates per job family will end up to beinvited for interviews. Therefore, our advice: it might pay off toprepare properly for the exam!
Recruitment after having passed the exam
The number of candidates that pass is closely linked to thepositions that are projected to become available. Each year, thecandidates that meet the projected vacancies plus a 10 % reservelist, which is valid for two years, are passed. Consequently, whilethe probability of getting a job is quite high, passing is not aguarantee of getting a job. Job offers to successful candidates aremade on an ongoing basis, but placement takes place on a quarterlybasis, subject to the requirements of the Organization. If you aresuccessful, you will be considered for YPP vacancies as they becomeavailable. You will be given an opportunity to indicate yourpreference(s) for duty stations and job functions at the time ofthe oral examination. While efforts are made to take preferencesinto account this may or may not be possible.
