Teaching procedures:

Step 1 Pre-reading 

1. watch a video, what happened to theplayer? His leg is broken.

2.T: when we do some sports, some accidentsmay happen.

3.Look at Section B 2a , read the title,then read the phrases.

Show the pictures, ask one by one;

When playing soccer, what accidents mayhappen

When swimming, what accidents may happen

What do you think of climbing mountains?

To be dangerous means to take risks. Whenclimbing mountains, what accidents may happen

When we meet these problems, what should wedo? Let’s know a person.

4. Show the picturewho is the man? What does helike doing? What happened to him?

Why did he lose his arm? There is a filmnamed <127 hours>about him . It’s a true story . The film is from hisbook<Between a Rock and a Hard Place>

Let’s read his story. Read the title. Whatcan you know from the title?

From the title , we know he is a strong andbrave man.

Guess, what will the writer write?

(what is Aron Ralston)

Step 2 while reading.

1. The first reading, and answer:

What is Aron Ralston ?Where did the accident happen on April 26, 2003

2. Careful reading

Watch and answer:
Why couldn’t Aron move?  How did he free himself ? Did he have to cut offhis arm? Why?

Can you read? (If you were Aron, what wouldyou feel? Cao you read what you feel?)

What kind of person do you think he is?

Help students to understand:

He could stand the great pain,so he wasvery strong; he could make decisions in time and in control his life, so he wasdecisive. [di'saisiv]果断的

3. Careful reading

Read the first paragraph and the thirdparagraph:

What kind of person do you think he is?Howdo you know it?

Which sentences can help youFirst underline the sentences,then write what you think ,finally, read it.

The first paragraph:

Explain: be used to doing ; take risk

According tothe sentences, can you make sentences:

Aron is used to________________________;(导:doing dangerous things./ making decisions in time./climbing highmountains./ coming up with good ways .

There were manytimes when Aron almost lost his life because of accidents. How did he save his life. He must be used to _______).

The third paragraph:

His love for mountain climbing is sogreat that he kept on climbing mountains even after this experience.

He is a person who never gives up.

The fourth paragraph:

What a ______ man he is! 

So Aron’s spirit is to be strong, brave,decisive and wise.(智慧的).

Step 3. post-reading.

1.What does “between a rock and a hardplace” mean?

kind of accidents or problems do you havewhen you are doing sports/studying……?

Studying and playing; make friends who areplayful or who love studying; reading books or watching TV; getting up orsleeping late; buying cheap or dear things…

初中英语“三读”阅读教学法培训心得

  很高兴能参加本次的培训,每一次的学习对于我来说都会有很深的触动。通过前两次的培训,我对英语“三读”教学法已经有了一些了解,但是在自己实际操作当中还是有很多不足。在日常的英语阅读教学中,我总是把大量的时间和精力放在生词的认读、重点词的理解搭配、句子的翻译和造句训练上,显然这样的教学,其弊端是过于重视语言形式的把握,却忽视对内容的理解,只能让学生的思路停留于凌乱的知识点上,并不能培养学生领悟作者的思想和驾驭文章结构的能力,阅读能力也就无法提高。今天听过三位老师的阅读课,让我豁然开朗。下面是课后对“三读”教学法的一点理解:

一、Fast reading粗读课文——对文章的宏观把握,训练学生的阅读速度。一般先让学生用23分钟快速阅读课文,可让学生采取跳读的方式,不在书上画任何痕迹,读完后回答问题。提的问题一定要简单,即学生能在原文中直接找出答案。

二、Careful reading细读课文——对文章的微观把握,训练学生的阅读深度。结合书上的要求,让学生再次阅读课文。对于篇幅较长的文章,实行分段教学,以减轻学生的阅读难度。

三、Appreciate Reading赏读课文——提炼重点,积累资源。凡是出现在教材中的文章,都是经过精挑细选的经典文章。在文章中也有很多重要的短语、句式和句子。老师要帮助引领同学们将这些重点提炼出来,记录、理解并学会运用。

长期的英语教学使我深深地体会到,英语课不只是单纯的知识课。教材中的阅读训练,将问题贯穿于文章始终是培养学生提高英语阅读能力和英语交际能力的有效途径之一。而“三读”阅读教学法,正是这样的一把钥匙。
