知识目标:
1. 听说认读单词,tall , short , thin , fat , giraffe .
2. 掌握句型Look at that … It’s so … It’s … and ….
能力目标
运用本课句型,简单描述小动物的外形特点。
情感目标
通过Zoom 在动物园的危险做法,让学生了解在动物园禁止做的事情。保护自己,爱护小动物。
教学重点
1. 听说认读单词,tall , short , thin , fat , giraffe .
2. 掌握句型Look at that … It’s so … It’s … and ….
教学难点
1.生词thin 的发音
2.认读和运用本课新句式 Look at that giraffe. It’s short and fat.

动物图片,词卡,录音机。

ⅠOrganization
1.Greeting.
T: How are you ? Nice to meet you.
2.Sing a song.
T: Let’s sing a song. Boy and girl.
ⅡReview
1.Free talk
T:Let’s act the dialogues. ( Choose four groups )
2.Words
T: Look, so many animals here . What’s that ? It’s a …
To review the words, dog, cat, pig, duck, panda, rabbit, monkey.
T: Oh, we can see many animals here, so we are at the zoo. Now we will learn Unit 3 At the zoo.
Ⅲ Presentation
1.To learn the new words . Giraffe
T : I have an animal , can you guess? What’s this?
To show a picture of giraffe, then ask. The students guess it.
T: Oh, it’s a giraffe. Look at the word, can you spell? Letter g pronounces / d?/, letter i pronounces /?/ , so gi / d? ?/ / d? ?/  / d? ?/ . r r /r/ /r/ /r/. a a /a:/ /a:/ /a:/. Ff /f/ e no sounds. Can you read it now ?
Ss: giraffe. ( Two by two)
T: let’s write it.
2.To learn the new words . tall short thin fat
T: Look at that giraffe. It’s so …
To lead the students say out tall.
T: Yes, the giraffe is so tall. Look at this word. al / ?:/. Read it in groups.
T: Can you say a sentence with tall ?
To make some sentences by students.
T: OK. There are three word on the board, can you spell by yourself?
To show the phonetic symbols of three words. Let students spell them like this, th th /θ/ /θ/ /θ/ i i /I/ /I/ /I/ n n /n/ /n/ /n/  /θin/ thin
Short and fat in this way.
3.To make sentences with the new words.
T: Please make some sentences with them. Work in pairs.
4.Le’s do. Be fat , be fat, be fat , fat, fat. ….
T: Let’s listen and do.
5.To teach the sentence pattern.
T: Look at that giraffe. What’s the meaning of this sentence ?
Let the students know the meaning. Then write it on the board. Read it in four and check it .Pay attention the pronunciation of  look at .
T: The giraffe is very tall, we also can say it’s so tall.
Write the sentence it’s so… Call someone to say out the stressed open syllables (重读开音节) Letter o pronounces /??/。
6.To teach the sentence it’s…and…
T: Look at that panda. What’s it like?
Ss: It’s short. It’s fat.
T: Yes. It’s short and fat.
To show the picture of panda . Put it besides giraffe. Practice the sentence.
Ⅳ Drill
1.To drill the sentences . look at that… It’s so… It’s … and …
T: Describe the animals like this . Work in pairs, please.
2.To listen and repeat
T: Listen to the tape carefully, then tell me ,who is tall ?
Ss: The giraffe is tall.
T: Now open your books, listen and point. Listen and repeat twice.
All the No.1 to read the text, then check their members.
T: Let’s read together. Which group can play it in roles ?
3  T: Let’s recite the text.
4  T: Look at the picture. Where is Zoom ? Did he do this right? How should we do at the zoo? Don’t feed the animals . Don’t run away.
V homework
Draw an animal , and say with your friends. Look at my_____.   It’s ___ and _____.
