这些年我们都或多或少看过一些软装配饰的方法和规则。其中的一些规则也确实帮助我们创造了很好的生活空间，同时也受到一些没必要的规则限制了创艺性和设计师个性的展示。这里我们揭穿一些所谓合理的配饰设计案例。
Over the years we’ve probably all learned some home decorating “rules”. Some of these are great guidelines that help you to create a creative living space, and others are just unnecessary limits on the showcasing of your personality. Here are some of the top decorating myths, debunked!
例一：
白色墙让你的家居空间更开扩
White walls make a space look larger.
确实如此，但同样它让你的家居空间变得更枯燥！其它颜色可以创造更有趣且同样可以达到效果。相比一些冷色调的如蓝色和绿色可以缓解视觉疲劳，用在小房间里效果是非常的好。不应该老想着房间小就得让它看上去感觉大这一个方向去想。让我们换种思维，我们用高大上的颜色让它变得更自然，创造一个温暖舒适有品味的空间怎样？尝试一下深红、宝石兰或土豪金。在夜晚时分，光线的会创造一个色衰过渡，这个时候就会感觉到房间又大又舒适。
Truth: Maybe. But they also make a space look boring! Other colors can be used to expand a space aside from white. Pale to medium cool colors such as blues and greens seem to recede from the eye, and are used very effectively in small rooms. Also consider that just because a room is small, doesn’t mean you always want to make it look large. How about going with the nature of the room, and create a warm, comforting space that wraps you in rich color? Try a deep red, sapphire blue or a grand gold. Another benefit to using rich, deep colors? In the evening hours, the walls seem to fade away, and actually make the room look larger and cozy at the same time.
例二：
家具整齐靠墙，这样效果最好
Furniture looks best lining the walls.
没错，大部分情况是这样。软装配饰设计师会花点时间去考虑家具的平面布局，简单快速重新布置这些家具让其看上去更清新更有味道。想想让我们移走会话空间墙边的家具，角处斜放双人沙发，家具之间保留一定的距离。与其它房间的家具对换增加新意，不要当心不太常用的家具组合方式，大胆的尝试新的方法找出新的感觉。
Truth: Almost never. Home decorators need to spend some time experimenting with their furniture placement. After all, simply rearranging the furniture is the fastest way to a new and fresh look in a room. Try pulling the furniture away from the walls in conversational groupings. A loveseat set on the diagonal adds movement to a room, and frees up space behind the piece. Swap pieces with other rooms to find a new look, and don’t be afraid to use unusual combinations of furniture if they work for your home.
例三：
房间里的家具都应该配套
Everything in my rooms should match.
这个看是正确的，家具造型统一、布艺和色系都尽量统一。但我们用另一种方式，想象一下款式跟随感觉去配会是怎样一下效果，保证一个正常的活动路线将所有家具和配饰穿链起来，有规律的用一个色和图案来保持它的连续性，把这些元素控制在一个合理的范围内这样你也可以做一个成功的软装配饰案例。
Truth: Matching furniture sets, fabrics and even color schemes are thankfully no longer the “in” thing. Feel free to combine different styles and feelings in a room, as long as you keep a common thread running through the room. Repeat a color or pattern throughout the room for continuity, and keep the pieces at the same level of formality to guide you to success.
例四：
不应该放自己的私人照和家具照片在公用的客厅和餐厅中
Don’t display personal or family photos in public spaces.
事实上，没有哪个房间不是为人准备的，没有哪个空间比公用空间更能分享你的爱好和你的家庭！家庭环境如果没有私人的物品就会缺乏温暖就会感觉生活无味。。。让人感觉你不需要家人和朋友。
Truth: No house is a home without the people in it, and what better place to show off your loved ones than right where every visitor can share in your joy! Homes decorated without personal touches such as photos lack warmth and feel sterile…and that’s NOT the look or feel you want for your family and friends, and especially not for yourself!
例五：
做一个有吸引力的软装配饰就必须尊守规则！
To have an attractively decorated home, you must follow rules!
事实上，这个唯一的准则就是一切视情况而定。软装配饰应该体现你的创造力和独有的个性。。。切记不要跟随一些无名的现有的所谓的装饰规则去做。应该努力去寻找新的方式和方法，对一个成功的配饰设计师来说这是一个过程，当然这样也是有一定风险，有辛的是现在我们软件的应用可以提前实现效果，如果不理想还可以进行多次的重试或修改设计。所以不要当心自己不会配饰和自己对所有的配饰规则都不懂，这正好能打破所有的规则让我们放手去设计。
Truth: The only decorating rules are the ones you place upon yourself. Decorating your home should be about exploring your creativity and expressing yourself…not following some static decorating rules made up by some anonymous “expert”. Enjoy trying new things…the only danger in experimenting with home decorating is in how fast you might get hooked! Think of it this way, whatever you move, change or paint…it can be changed back. So don’t be afraid to decorate your home, even if you don’t know all the rules. (Cause they are just there to break, anyway!)
记住，软装配饰手册是你很好的工具，但你不要被它所束缚。敢于尝试新的规则，并让它他为你所用。带着你的经验和对配饰的独特想法，哪一天你就明白了上面例子所讲诉的真理。
Remember, decorating guidelines are great tools, but they shouldn’t limit you. Dare to try things outside the boundaries, and see if they work for you. Experiment with different ideas, and the next time you hear one of these decorating myths, you’ll know the truth!
