Master 0sifu Story: Dai Song painted the ox

Dai Songwas a famous painter in Tang dynasty and his paintings of ox were alwayscherished by Brahmins.

唐代著名画家戴蒿所画的牛历来为文人雅士钟爱。

 

In Songdynasty, a person who lived in Sichuan province with a surname of Du collecteda painting of ox by Dai Song, and he cherished it very much and often took itout to appreciate it. And he even often dries it in sunny days.

宋朝一个姓杜的四川人藏有一幅戴蒿的斗牛画，十分珍惜，经常带在身边把玩，天气好时还不时拿出来晾晒.

 

Once ashepherd boy saw this painting and couldn’t help laughing, thinking that thepainting was to depict a fighting ox, but in this painting the tail of the oxwas raised high, which was quite different from what he had observed before. Infighting, the tail of the ox should he between the legs. So this painting hadthis wrong. The Sichuan person with the surname of Du agreed with the shepherdboy and didn’t cherish it that much any longer.

一个牧童看见这幅图画，不觉笑起来，认为画是“斗牛图”，牛的尾巴却翘起了，和他所见斗牛时牛尾巴夹在牛腿间完全不一样，这幅画错了的斗牛图不值得这么重视。姓杜的四川人完全赞同牧童的观点。将这幅画降低了收藏规格。
