“Funny”，“Fun”，“Interesting” 是同义词么？不——是——！！！

上学的时候我们觉得，“Funny”、“Fun” 和 “Interesting” 都可以表示 “有趣的”，和老外对话时，也会自以为是在夸奖的说：“You are so funny.”

可其实此时老外往往是一脸黑线，内心无数草泥马奔腾而过。

Funny: making you laugh（让你笑出来）

Funny的准确意思是：好笑的。比如一个小丑在表演，那你就可以说他很funny.

 

1. It's not funny, poor Mary was nearly in tears.

这一点都不可笑，可怜的Mary差点哭出来了。

 

2. This joke is so funny that I can’t stop laughing!

这个笑话太好笑了，我都笑得停不下来了。

 

fun

Fun: enjoyable and amusing; a fun person is enjoyable to be with because they are happy and amusing.（愉快的、好玩的。用来形容人，就是他很有趣，让周围的人都感到快乐与欢愉。）

简单说，Fun的意思是：好玩的。

 

1. She's a fun person.

她是一个逗比。

 

2. The picnic was really fun.

那次野餐真的很欢乐。

 

interesting

 

Interesting: seems unusual or exciting or provides information that you did not know about.（看起来不同寻常，或让人兴奋，或提供了你不知道的信息。）

简单地说，interesting的意思是：有趣的；令人感兴趣，引起人兴趣的。

1. This is a really interesting TV program.

这是一个很有趣的电视节目。（可能不是每分钟都让你发笑，但是让你大开眼界。）

 

2. She is really interesting.

她很有趣。（她可能冲浪滑雪烘焙插花煮咖啡，她生活得很精彩。）

 

所以，以后别再说别人“You are so funny.”啦！它的意思是，“你真可笑！”
