There are two ways to stop and start the exadata server ,Whether its a database server or storage server.Firsts from the command-line interface (CLI) and second from the Oracle ILOM web interface.
(a) Command-line interface (CLI)
Stop (process)
Connect the ilom server through ssh
Status before stopping the server :-
-> show /SYS
/SYS

PS1
PS_FAULT
SERVICE

Now let proceed to stop server
stop -f /SYS
Are you sure you want to immediately stop /SYS (y/n)? y
Stopping /SYS immediately
wait for 10 minute and then check the status
Show /SYS

2. Start (process)
Connect the ilom server through ssh
Run :- start /SYS
Also you can start console the see the post output for possible fault messages.
The following output is a sign that post did not detect any faults :
start /SP/console

Login to the web interface ilom server.
In left pane -> click Host Management
Click ->Power Control
Click ->Reset or Immediate power Off
Note :- In case of storage server grid disk take time from SYNCING to ONLINE
Login to storage server
