What is media literacy？In my opinion，what media literacy is the ability to read many types of
media,and to understand the complex messages we receive from television ,radio,Internet,newspapers,magazines,books,billboards,video games ,music,and all other forms of media.However ,what
our teacher told us the real meaning of media literacy beyond my expectation.From her perspective,not only the media literacy include the ability to read and understand ,but also contain the capability to analyze the correctness and rationality of some incidents,to convey the evaluations on some affairs,and to make presentation by any forms of media.
Her words sounded perfectly.In the rapidly changing information age,we indeed need to cultivate our media literacy.After all the massive amount of information also include something incorrect and detrimental messages,which we are supposed to distinguish and to resist.
By learning and understanding the real meaning of media literacy,I have benefited a lot from such classes.I am consciously trying to develop my critical thinking skills in my daily life.When I see an advertisement ,I will try my best to recognize what the media maker wants us to believe or do to distinguish bias ,spin,misinformation and lies.I will also make some evaluations on some media messages based on my own experiences,skills,beliefs and values.Further more,I am aware of sharpening my media literacy by creating and distributing my own media messages .
