We’ve combined the best aspects of a small flexible venture fund with the power of a top tier angel network and the deep resources of large corporate and institutional investors.

Each time our fund invests in a company, our investors may choose to allocate additional personal funds to the opportunity if they believe they can add real value to the company. For investors this means unique access to difficult-to-get-into deals, more control and better returns. For founders, this means direct access to successful entrepreneurs-turned-investors as well as large corporates and institutions that can support their business from seed through IPO.

Our Investment Focus

Rubicon Venture Capital invests in Internet, software and hardware/software technology companies from our offices in San Francisco and New York City, though we are open to investing across the US and globally. Our focus tends to be on companies in North America, the UK and Europe, where we have developed extensive business networks that can help our portfolio companies succeed.

The bulk of our funds are focused in Series A and B financing rounds. We are also active in seed rounds, though we require that a startup has raised a minimum of $500k USD of outside funding before we invest. Our unique fund plus sidecar model enables our fund and our investors to participate in growth and late-stage rounds right up to acquisition or IPO.
