    在你已经发现了解药,你应该感到喜悦。但你并不开心。为什么呢?
    1.因为我们很少服用解药;
    2. 因为我们想要立刻见效;
    3. 因为我们也没有看到,这些虫是因为我们的无知而产生的另一些自然现象而已。

    于所有的这些无明,我们再次坠入了这些'虫子'的暴政。这就是为何我们必须去做'禅修者的三项工作',它们与以上三点相反,它们(三项工作)是我们的解药。

    一次看到杂染,如果带着正见和觉知,都是一次喜悦。这是唯一的解药,我们终于能够正确的看待它们了,所以喜悦。每一次看到,就是一次治疗如果我们并不觉得喜悦,毫无疑问,是因为我们没有正确的服用这副药。

    修者:那么,可否这样说:禅修,并不是去'杀虫',而是,'正确的看待虫子,与虫子和谐共存?'

'Compassion is a resultant of Right View or Right Understanding. Why is it so? In fact, one need not try to develop compassion. It is an effect when one look at things the right way. So how do we look at things the right way?'

'When we notice greed, aversion or delusion frequently in our minds, we get dejected by their existence. We don’t like what we noticed. We also see these defilements happening in other people. We detest what is taking place. Life suddenly becomes miserable. '

'In truth, when we notice these realities, we shall be happy and joyful. It is the Truth which the Buddha pointed out. Yet, we don’t like what we noticed. Why is it so? The Buddha is pointing to us a Reality. A reality found in every individual mind.'

'Defilements are realities. It is not a concept or an imagination. How can realities make us suffer if we know them exactly as 'realities'. In fact, we shall be happy because we have never seen defilements in these way before. Before, we are ignorant (delusion)of it. We chase (greed) after happiness. We avoid (aversion) unhappiness. We thought these happenings are 'natural'.'

'Our 'natural' is actually a blindness. An ignorance. A kind of not knowing why we are doing that. We simply follow the defilements. We think it is the right thing to do. We are always in the pull and push factor. But one day we wakeup to realize actually the wanting and not wanting, the like and dislike, the pull and push factor is actually “defilements'. Not me, not mine, not 'I'. '

'A good example to illustrate this will be like a person irritating all the time. He just doesn’t know why he is such. He gets irritated at little things and just feel so uncomfortable. He cannot avoid being irritated even though he tries not to. One day he found out thru his physician that his irritation is due to a certain imbalance in his body. On later diagnosis the physician found a certain worm affecting his organs. Only then did he realize that actually the irritation is not his nature. It is not him. Not his. It is just intrusion of this foreign organism into the body. '

In the same way, defilements being pointed out by the Great Physician, the Buddha, is like those 'foreign intrusion'. They are not I, me or mine. Because of them defiling the minds, we get angry and greedy. To finally found them out is a joy, otherwise we will be living our lives at their mercy, ignorantly. We can use awareness and right view to notice them when they are present. Awareness+ right view is our medicine given by the Buddha. We can finally see to its end.'

'It is in this way of knowing that there is Right Understanding. Why should we be dejected knowing them? We cannot just get rid of them like those worms. Because when we dont like them, this attitude is the 'worms' itself. We only grow them more. That is why we must look at them correctly. This is the best gift the Buddha has givenus.'

'We can only be compassionate when we see others suffering because of the worms of defilements. Everyone is not alone in this ignorance. Every being have it. But out of ignorance of not seeing the Physician, they suffer in vain. One day they will understand. One day they will be release from that illness. Until then suffering and stress is their experience, unavoidable. They have not found the remedy yet.'

'You have found the remedy. In fact, you shall be happy. Yet, we are not. Why?
1. Because we seldom apply the remedy.
2. We wanted immediate result.
3. We also didn't see those worms are just another nature that cannot be otherwise due to our not knowing.

Due to all these ignorance, we fall back into the tyranny of those 'worms “again. That is why we must have the Three-Yogi-Job. They are the opposite of the above three. They are our medicine.'

'Each noticing the defilements, if come with Right View and Awareness is a joy. A joy that finally we are able to see them correctly as this is the only medicine to addressing them. Each seeing IS A REMEDY. If we are not happy surely we have taken the remedy wrongly.'

'Right Understanding or Right View is when we give preference to the remedy instead of the problem. Wrong View is when we try targetting on the defilements. The defilements are not the problem.They exist because they are another realities.'

'Right Meditation begins when we understand the problem, the cause of the problem, the end of the problem and the right way out if it. Namely the Four Noble Truth.
