Listen to the tape then answer this question. What is Mr. Sawyer doing tonight?

It is eight o'clock.
The children go to school by car every day,
but today, they are going to school on foot.
It is ten o'clock.
Mrs. Sawyer usually stays at home in the morning, but this morning, she is going to the shops.
It is four o'clock.
In the afternoon, Mrs. Sawyer usually drinks tea in the living room. But this after, she is drinking tea in the garden.
It is six o'clock. In the evening, the children usually do their homework, but this evening, they are not doing their homework. At the moment, they are playing in the garden.
It is nine o'clock. Mr. Sawyer usually reads his newspaper at night. But he's not reading his newspaper tonight. At the moment, he's reading an interesting book.

A: a句中it是形式主语，英语中常用it作形式主语来表达时间、天气和距离等。如：
Is it eight o'clock?
现在是8点钟吗？
It is windy, but it is sunny.

It is about 50 kilometers from here to the seashore.
从这里到海边大约50公里。
B: put something somewhere把什么东西放在什么地方；
Put the book in my bag.
Put the money in the purse.
C: by car坐小汽车，on foot步行，都是固定搭配；by表示乘坐（某种交通工具），类似的表达还有：

2. It is ten o'clock, Mrs. Sawyer usually stays at home in the morning, but this morning, she is going to the shops. 现在是10点钟。上午，索耶夫人通常是呆在家里的，但今天上午，她正去商店买东西。
A: this morning今天上午，类似的表达还有：this evening今晚，that day那天，last week上周，next year明年，yesterday morning昨天上午，tomorrow afternoon明天下午，这些特定的词构成的时间状语前通常不加介词。
B: go to the shops=go shopping. 类似的有：go fishing去钓鱼，go hiking去远足。
C: 一般现在时和现在进行时的区别：一般现在时表示经常性的动作，而现在进行时表示正在进行的动作。如：
She walks to school.
她步行去学校。（习惯、经常性的动作）
She is walking to school.
她正在步行去学校。（正在进行的动作）
有时现在进行时也可以用来代替一般现在时，表示一个经常性的动作或者是状态。如：
He is always littering.
他总爱乱扔杂物。
She is always thinking of the others.
她总是为他人着想。
3. At the moment, they are playing in the garden. 此刻，他们正在花园里玩。
at the moment=at present. 都表示此刻，现在。如
I am very busy at the moment.
我此刻很忙。
I'm sorry, I must go now.
很抱歉，我现在要走了。
有关moment的短语有：at the last moment在紧要关头/在最后关头，for a moment片刻/一会儿，every moment时时刻刻，每一刻。如：
At the last moment, he gave up.
在最后关头，他放弃了。
