“20多岁”的英文可不是more than twenty！这个说法超地道！

生活中，在说明自己年龄的时候，我们经常会用到“20多岁”，那用英文该如何表达呢？

有个超级地道的说法：twenty-something

剑桥词典对这里的 -something 作了解释：used after a number like 20, 30 etc. to refer to the age of a person who is between 20 and 29, 30 and 39 years old, etc.

I am twenty-something.

我二十多岁了。

也可表达为：in one's twenties

They're both in their twenties and both married with children of their own. 

他们俩都二十几岁，都已经结婚生子了。

还可以借助early，middle，late来表达得更明确一些，例如：

The girl is in her early twenties.

那女孩今年二十出头。

He is in his middle twenties.

他今年二十五岁左右。

She is in her late twenties.

她今年二十八、九岁。

除了上面两种说法，英语中关于年龄的表达还有很多，一起来学习下：

① 表示整岁，直接用基数词或year, age，比如“他20岁”就可以表示为：

He is twenty (years old).

②  表示“超过多少岁”用介词past，例如：

He is past fifty.

他已年过50。

③ 表示“快满多少岁”用进行时或将来时，例如“他快满18岁了”可说成：

He is getting on for eighteen.

④ 表示“不满多少岁”，用副词barely/nearly/almost/quite/yet等，例如“她不满17岁”有以下几种说法：

She is barely/nearly/almost/quite/yet seventeen.

⑤ 表示“差多久满多少岁”用介词off，例如：

He is five months off nineteen.

他差5个月就满19岁了。

英文中还有个短语：today years old，大家知道是什么意思吗？来看看词典解释：a fancy way of saying that you just did or learned something for the first time.

这个表达并不是在说年龄，而是表示“今天才知道”，有一种恍然大悟的感觉。

I was today years old when I found out that loofahs are fruits.

我今天才知道丝瓜是水果。

推特网友还将“today years old”注册成了一个bot，专门发送一些生活中的冷知识。
