【新疆景观】壮美的奎屯河大峡谷（组图）

  
  据说20多年前，美国新泽西州州立鲁特铭斯大学教授、世界华人摄影学会副会长、美籍华人李元先生就用镜头探索了奎屯河大峡谷，并将作品发表于《美国国家地理》杂志，从而让世界知道了这里。奎屯河，发源于新疆天山北麓的依连哈比尔尕冰山，流经有新疆北疆“金三角”之称的独山子、奎屯、乌苏地区，向西北注入新疆最大咸水湖——艾比湖，全长359公里。

    据古史记载，原来的奎屯河就象一匹脱缰的野马，宏大的水势在冰川巨壑中冲腾而出，裹着泥沙，卷着乱石，在巨大的河谷狂啸翻滚，横冲直撞，在平原上肆意泛滥，淹没农田，吞噬周边及下游居民、房屋、牲畜。

    随着天山山体的不断抬升和河流的不断下切，奎屯河峡谷逐渐形成。整条峡谷近南北走向，长约28公里，谷底宽100—400米，谷肩宽800—1000米，谷壁陡峭，奇特险峻，山岩危耸，九曲跌宕，谷底平展开阔，河滩上砾石遍地，流水时分时聚，顺谷延伸。
