Paraphrase的具体技巧举例介绍

在上一期，我们从理论上分析了在留学生论文写作中paraphrase的重要性，在本文中小编继续这个话题，谈谈paraphrase的具体技巧举例介绍。

一、改词汇

首先是同义词替换这应该是入门级别，难度最低的改写方法了。

比如原句：Writing a sentence with suitable words is difficult。可以替换成为：Creating a sentence with appropriate words is challenging. 同义词替换需要注意的是，某些词汇在非native speaker眼中几乎可以等同，比如difficult和challenging，suitable和appropriate。但在英语为母语的人眼中，可能表达的意思的程度并不相同。比如difficult相对而言更加客观，而challenging可能仅针对某个特定的人，因为他在某方面具有障碍，所以会认为这件事做起来有挑战性。可能我们没有办法找到完全意思同样的词汇来替换，但在选择意思相近的词汇时，需要做到的是注意你选择的词汇是否具有特定的使用环境，是否表达了特定的含义，是否能与目标替换词汇形成较高程度的契合。

同义词替换在非专业写作中可以用的比较多。在专业词汇多的句子中，用处就明显受到限制了。

比如：Chapter 11 focuses on preserving reorganization or going concern value over liquidation value.这个句子中chapter 11 肯定是不能换的，这是主句。reorganization、going concern value以及liquidation value都是专业词汇无法替换。就剩下focus on和preserve。preserve一般可以与maintain替换，意思相近，中文都是维持、维护。但是这里一旦替换上了maintain，表达的含义就完全偏了。maintain多用于维护设备的运行，而preserve的维持则是维持某个制度、某种价值等抽象的对象。focus on一般可以替换成为concentrate on，pay attention to，或者be absorbed in。这里的后面两个表示专业的短语明显只能用于人。

二、改词性

可以将某个词汇的词性修改了，同时调整整个句子的顺序。

比如原句：One of the Government’s particular aims is to help owner-managed companies where for those directors saving the company is much more important than selling the assets to a new company.可以从particular着手变为：Particularly，one of Government’s aims is to……此外还可以将to do变成of doing。

比如：There are mainly three ways to avoid getting hurt.变成There are three main ways to avoid get yourself hurt.

第三、改变原句顺序

比如原句：Relief is sought under the Bankruptcy code without having an agreed exit strategy among the company and at least a critical mass or core group of creditors.

原句的含义是在破产法的规定下，可以不用在公司和一定比例范围之类的债权人之间形成一个退出策略的合意，便可以得到救济。改变顺序的paraphrase可以这样写：Under the Bankruptcy code, without an agreed exit strategy/plan ，relief could be sought/obtained/guaranteed. 本质上，就是将两个从句：under the bankruptcy code，以及without后面连接的部分的顺序进行了修改。变换句子顺序的方式需要与同义词替换的方法相结合，避免在从句内部依然被认定为抄袭。

改变句子顺序的改写方法需要建立在学生自己对原句的理解和自己改写能力的基础之上。改写之后呈现的效果也会随之不同。

比如原句：The effective abolition of administrative receivership will mean that holders of floating charges will be encouraged to focus less on a disposal of assets as a mean of recouping value, and more on an approach which achieves an outcome that benefits all stakeholders.

为了突出more后面的从句，可以变为The effective abolition of administrative receivership entitles holders of floating charges to highlight the approach that benefit all stakeholders instead of disposing assets to recoup value. 这里直接将more后面的含义提在前面进行改写。
