A group of college students from the northern province of Hebei recently arrived in Beijing and began their two-month summer vacation - as housekeepers!
Their main responsibilities will be taking care of babies, teaching them to speak, sing, and think. But if the need arises they can turn their hands to driving or even secretarial work.
The students earn at least 1,500 RMB each month.
Unlike ordinary housekeepers, the college students have majored in housekeeping at college, taking professional training in child education, health care, computers, and English.
Mr. Liu, whose company has brought the students to Beijing, says there is a great demand for high-quality housekeepers in big cities like Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
