About
—from Adam Gopnik’s Paris to the Moon
Digitizd is here to save the world from more of that.
The world is increasingly technical. Whether we’re with our friends and family, at work, or anywhere else doing anything else, digital technology is creeping into every aspect of our lives. That technology has the power to make our lives easier and better, but there’s a problem: most people don’t know how to use it. Most people fall along the spectrum of these three things: most people either don’t know the technology exists, don’t know what it’s good for, or don’t know how to make the most of it.
Digitizd was created to help move people along that spectrum, to help everyone find, understand, and utilize the incredible technology that the Internet and other advances have brought into our lives. Whether it’s showing you new things or helping you use what you’ve already got, this site is all about the technology that has an effect on our lives.
This isn’t the only site out there trying to help you make the most out of technology – there are a million others, and a lot of them are really good. Most of them, though, are filled with jargon, acronyms, and are written by techies, for techies. The hope for this site is that it’s for anyone and everyone, and that no matter what you do or know there will be something interesting for you here.
The Digitizd Universe
There’s more to this digital life than gets covered on this site – and more than gets covered on any of these sites – but we’re covering some of it on a few of Digitizd’s sister sites:
Digitizd Plus – Lots of little tips, hints, and tricks to help you do even more with technology.
The Upgraded – A showcase and finder’s guide for great gadgets, apps, and websites.
Digitizd Talk – Got a question? Need a recommendation? Just want to talk tech? Come do it here.
About David
I’m David Pierce, the Founding Editor of this here site. I’m a 21-year-old (at least as of May 2010) guy living in New York City, having just graduated from the University of Virginia.
By day, I’m an Assistant Editor at PCMag Digital Networks, a phenomenal technology publication. It’s a great job, and one that in no way affects the work I do here. I’m not asked to write anything here, and I wouldn’t do it if I were. Also, this should be clear: the opinions here are my own, and not representative of anything other than the goings on of my brain.
Emails, by the way, can go to david [at] digitizd [dot] com.
Got a story idea? Send it to tips@digitizd.com, and we’ll get right on it for you!
(Side note: sadly, I get too many pitches to be able to respond to them all. I promise, I read every single one, and if it fits with Digitizd I’ll get in touch! If you don’t hear back from me, it unfortunately means that your pitch just isn’t right for Digitizd.)
