数词是表示数目或顺序的词。

1.基数词：表示数目;如one一， two二， three三
2.序数词：表示顺序;如first第一，second第二，third第三

1、基数词表示法 (请注意构词规律)
注意：英语中，从后往前数，每三位数前要加一个逗号;第一个逗号处读thousand，第二个逗号处读million，第三个逗号处读billion，第四个逗号处读trillion
2、101-999读法：读“末尾两位数或末位数”之前常加and

3、1,001以上的数词的读法：读“末尾两位数或末位数”之前常加and，读逗号前两位数或一位数之前也常加and

注意：在美国英语中，经常不用and。
四、hundred/thousand/million/dozen用法
1、表示确定数目时，用单数形式
five hundred people 五百人;
eight thousand pounds 八千磅;
five million cars 五百万辆车;
ten dozen eggs 十打鸡蛋;
There are six hundred people in the square. 广场上有600人。
Ten million cars were sold last year. 去年销售了一千万辆车。
I bought five dozen eggs yesterday. 昨天我买了五打鸡蛋。
2、表示确定数目时，若后跟us/you/them或the/ these/those或所有格，则须加上of
Five hundred of them came. 他们来了五百人。
Three thousand of the blue cars were sold. 已售出三千辆这些蓝色的车。
He bought his wife two dozen of these roses. 他给他妻子买了两打这些玫瑰。
One million of Henry’s workers refused to work at night. 亨利的一百万工人反对晚上上班。
3、与many,several, a few等连用修饰名词复数时，用单数形式
several hundred people 几百人;
a few thousand miles 几千英里
many million times 数百万次;
a few dozen eggs 几打鸡蛋
The house is several hundred years old. 这屋子有几百年历史了。
She may have many thousand dollars. 她可能有好几千美元。
Several dozen people gathered in front of the company. 几十人聚集在公司门口。
hundreds of people 数百人;
thousands of students 数千名学生
millions of cars 数百万辆车;
dozens of eggs 几十打鸡蛋
The child can sing thousands of songs. 这个小孩会唱几千首歌。
She has millions of fans. 她有数百万的粉丝。
He has seen the movie dozens of times. 他已经看过这部电影几十次了。
五、score用法
表示确定数目时
1、常用短语a score of，表示二十
a score of people 二十人; a score of workers;二十名工人
若超过二十，of常省略
three score students 六十名学生; five score teachers 一百位老师
three score years and ten 七十年
2、scores of: 许多
scores of people 许多人 scores of years 许多年
3、零(0)后常跟复数名词
0 degrees= zero degrees 零度
0 points = zero points 零点
0 ounces = zero ounces 零盎司
