Recently, about 50 Mercedes-Benz E-class owners complained to auto.people.com.cn that the company does not intend to recall or extend the period of warranty to the vehicles leaking oil on the turbocharger of the engine. According to sources, these car owners have banded together and reported it to the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine. Among them, nearly 30 owners commissioned a lawyer, preparing to solve the problem by legal means.
The origin of the event
More than 50 owners contacted auto.people.com.cn for the problem. An owner surnamed Hu said more than 50 car owners suffered from oil spill of turbocharger.
To help these victims to protect their rights, Mr. Hu and Mr. Dong began spontaneously collecting information of the victims. They showed the reporter a "Statistics on Oil Spill Mercedes-Benz E-class Cars with a CGI Turbocharged Engine," which recorded the information of nearly 40 owners from across the country, including their model numbers, license plate numbers, real names and contact details, as well as the time and place of purchasing the car, trouble description and the copy of the repair order from the 4S shops.
