There are 64,500 people in China who have assets valued at more than 100 million yuan ($16.2 million), and Beijing tops the list among provinces and municipalities with the most high net value individuals, according to a report released by Hurun Research Institute and Industrial Bank Co on April 15, 2013.
People with more than 6 million yuan in property is considered high net value, according to Hurun Research Institute's standard.
The report is based on statistics from the National Bureau of Statistics. They include residences, cars, personal income tax reports and registered capital of enterprises.
Among the 64,500 people, 80 percent are entrepreneurs, 15 percent are real-estate speculators and 5 percent are stock investors.
About the wealthy people
-Average age is 40, and more than half are over 45.
-Males account for nearly 90 percent.
-Nearly 60 percent own a master's degree or above.
-Investment returns and ownership of enterprises are two major sources of fortune.
-Own 4 vehicles and 5 watches on average.
-Have holiday of 21 days a year on average, and enjoy traveling, reading, having tea, and favorite sport is golf.
-14 percent have private doctors, and 70 percent are non-smokers.
-Sleep for 6.6 hours on weekdays and 7.4 hours on weekends.
