杂谈昨晚发了雯雯12月31日从日本
东京发给她世界各地好朋友的信，今天我翻译如下 ，有不妥处请朋友们指出。
雯雯这封信发给了给她世界各地大约七百多位朋友，这几天雯雯收到大量回信，邮箱爆满，从亚洲到遥远的欧洲、美洲，有人说很感动，有人说很值得深思，有人说将这封信转给了他们的亲人，有人说新年第一天全家人一起讨论信的主题……人们为什么对一封普通的新年问候信如此感兴趣，我想，无疑是雯雯信中提到的古埃及人问及的两个问题拨动了大家的心弦。
我们忙忙碌碌过了一天又一天，总有忙不完的事，操不完的心，总有源源不断的烦恼，总有无法企及的目标，钱总是不够多，房子总是不够大，工作总是不如意，孩子总是不听话，生活总是比别人差……于是我们不停地奔波，不停地争抢，不停地加快步伐。年终我们盘点家产、盘点收益、盘点权位、盘点爱情、盘点……我们是不是还该盘点一下心灵：我们到底在追逐什么，我们到底需要什么，生命中什么是最重要的；是不是该回答五千年前古埃及人发出的疑问：你找到快乐了吗，你给他人带来了快乐吗？
但愿2012年我们会轻松些，因为我们放慢了脚步。
Two Questions before Heaven - Happy New Year from Yiwen
Standing at the end of the year, do you feel that the world is changing so fast, you don’t remember much what happened in the year that just passed, except for some flashing headlines, some familiar or unfamiliar faces, some fragments of scenes, and some echo of sounds? Day by day, night by night, few of us can escape the inertia of life. We are happy or upset in our daily routines,experiencing the perpetual stress, with deadlines to meet, targets to achieve,
contacts to make - and if we are lucky – still dreams to fulfill.
To keep mentally sane in such a world, I think we all hold on to something that does not change - something no one can take away from us. For some, it might be God; for others, it might be a good night kiss, or a cup of morning coffee from Starbucks. For me, it is the little joyful moments here and there, like the blue sky I see and warm sunshine I feel on the way to work; the fallen flowers I pick up on the way home; the songs from radio in an unknown language but still made me cry; the ballet class on a sunny Sunday morning with Bach and Chopin music…Without those moments, it would have been challenging for me to keep moving from city to city, country to country every few months.
When closing one chapter and opening another, many will make New Year Resolution – a check list of getting healthier, wealthier, wiser, thinner, taller, happier, finding true love… many of these items are likely to stay for the years to come. I decide to make one this time as well:
In the ancient Egypt, people believe one will be asked two questions after one dies so it can be decided whether one can go to heaven. The questions are : “Have you found joy in life? And have you brought joy to others’ life?”
I came to realize that I have been focusing on looking for joy in MY life for the past years but did not do enough in bringing joy to others’ life. So that will be my resolution for 2012, and likely to stay for the years to come – for finding true joy in one’s life and bringing joy to others, are both life long process.
If you made it this far to read my message until here, you may also know that this year I have moved from Singapore to Hong Kong and now landed in Tokyo. Where I will be and what I will be doing in 2012, I do not know. But be ensured that no matter where I am, I will stay in touch, for knowing you, has brought joy to my life. And I hope I can do something for you in 2012, to return the joy.

站在岁末的尾巴上，你会觉得这个世界变化如此之快，你可能已不记得在刚刚过去的一年里发生了什么事，除了一些闪烁的头条新闻，一些熟悉或陌生的面孔，一些场景片段， 和一些声音的回声？一天又一天，一夜又一夜，我们很少有人能够摆脱生活的惯性。在我们的日常生活中，我们或高兴或烦恼，体验不断发生的压力，迎接任务的最后期限，完成某项工作目标，织结维护社会关系——如果我们足够幸运，仍有要实现的梦想。
在这样一个世界里，要保持清醒的头脑，我认为我们就必须坚守一些不变的东西 ——这些东西谁也无法从我们这里拿走。对于一些人来说，它可能是上帝，对另一些人来说，也可能是一个美好夜晚的亲吻，或是清晨一杯星巴克的咖啡。而对于我，它是这里或那里的一些小小的快乐时光，就像我在上班的路上，看到蓝蓝的天空，感受温暖的阳光；在我回家的路上捡起缤纷的落叶；收音机里传来的歌，虽然语言不通，但仍然让我感动让我流泪；在阳光明媚的星期天早晨伴随着巴赫和肖邦音乐的芭蕾课……，如果没有这些，我很难应对这样的挑战——每过几个月，我就要从这个国家搬到另一个国家，从这个城市换到另一个城市。
当合上生活的一页打开另一页时，许多人会对新年列一份期待的清单：更健康，更富裕，更聪敏，更苗条，长得更高，更快乐，找到真正爱情……当然这些期望的某些项目有可能在未来的岁月里才能达到。除此之外，我还决定在这个时间做一件事：
在古埃及，人们相信人在死亡后会问两个问题，因为它可以决定一个人是否可以去天堂。问题是：“在你的生命中找到了快乐吗？您给别人的生活带来了快乐吗？“
我意识到，在我过去的那些年中，我一直在寻找生命中的喜悦，但我还没有给他人的生命带来足够的喜悦。因此，2012年我决定，并在未来的岁月里 -——寻找我生活中真正的快乐，并给他人带来欢乐，这两者都是我一生追求的目标。
如果您看到这里，您也许知道，今年我已经从新加坡搬到了香港，现在又在
东京降落。我不知道2012年我将会在哪里，我将干什么。不过我保证，无论我在哪里都会和您保持联系，您无法知道，您给我生活带来了多么大的喜悦。我希望2012年我可以为您做些什么，以此来回报这种欢乐。
