 '小年'用英文怎么说？  

小年被视为春节的前奏，

是我们的传统节日，

不过，

随着中西文化的不断交融，

越来越多的外国人开始喜欢我国的这些传统节日。

但“小年”在英文中并没有对应的英文表达。

目前常见的有两种翻译：

①little New Year 小年

比如《中国日报》英文版中使用了以下翻译：

Little New Year (Chinese: Xiaonian), usually a week before the lunar New Year。

“小年”通常在农历新年前一周左右。

②off year 小年

《汉英大辞典》中，

“off year”是使用最为普遍的翻译。

比如：

There are many customs in off year.

小年有许多习俗。

Southern people and northern people celebrate off year in different days.

南北方的人们庆祝小年的时间不同。

 '虎年'用英文怎么说？  

 year of the tiger 虎年

说到虎年，

小伙伴们的第一反应，

是不是tiger year？

在学习“虎年”之前，

我们先来看看，

十二生肖的英文表达：

鼠 Rat 牛 Ox 虎 Tiger 兔 Rabbit

龙 Dragon 蛇 Snake 马 Horse 羊 Goat

猴 Monkey 鸡 Rooster 狗 Dog 猪 Pig

生肖年的正确表达是：

Year of the+动物名：生肖年

所以“虎年”用英语应该说 Year of the Tiger。

比如：

Happy lunar new year of the tiger!

 '守岁'用英文怎么说？  

stay up late on the New Year s Eve

守岁

我们知道，

stay up late是熬夜的意思，

“守岁”是指在除夕夜熬夜，

所以我们就用stay up late on the New Year s Eve.

比如：

We have the tradition to stay up late on the New Year s Eve.

我们有除夕夜守岁的习俗。

Children should stay up as late as possible on New Year s eve for it is believed that the later they stay up, the longer their parents will live. 

年三十晚上，孩子们应该尽量晚一点再睡，因为人们认为睡得越晚，他们长辈的寿命就越长。
