介词 Preposition
A word or group of words used before a noun or pronoun to show place, position, time or method.
+ place
可是,in the office和at the office不是都可以嘛?
at
1
To refer to a position or location which we see as a point.
e.g. 例句
1. I am sitting at the table.
2. There is somebody at the door.
2
To talk about locations at companies, workplaces when we see them as a place of activity.
e.g. 例句
1.How many people are working at Liulishuo?
3
To refer to activities which involve a group of people.
e.g. 例句
1. Were you at Ada’s party yesterday?
在电影院at the cinema
在剧院at the theater
在会议上at the meeting
在演唱会at the concert
......
4
With school/college/university.
e.g. 例句
1. My students always did well at school.
5
To refer to an address.
e.g. 例句
1. The bookstore was located at 84 Charing Cross Road in London.
6
To talk about public places where we get treatments, such as a hairdresser’s or doctor’s surgery.
e.g. 例句
1. I’m at the dental clinic.
7
To refer to most shops.
e.g. 例句
1. I’m at the supermarket.
💡
at the supermarket
in
1
To talk about locations within a larger area. If you are surrounded by the location, then you are in that location.
e.g. 例句
1. I can’t find my phone. I know it’s somewhere in this room.
2. Our company is in Shanghai.
2
To talk about workplaces when we see them as a physical location.
e.g. 例句
1. We work in an open-plan office.
at & in 小总结
💡
💡
arrive in & arrive at
1. arrive in + towns, cities, countries...
e.g.
He arrived in New York.
2. arrive at+ buildings or parts of buildings
e.g.
I arrived at the station.
“Hey, where are you?”
I’m at the coffee shop.
I’m at the coffee shop, too.
I didn’t see you.
Come inside.
I’m in the coffee shop.
3
情景
I’m at the office.
I’m at the office.
