These trees grow at an altitude between 900 and 2400 meters. Giant sequoia height ranges between 46 and hundred meters, a diameter of between 9 and 11 meters, and weighs in at about 2500 tons. Giant redwood bark is thick, about 60 cm. It is completely resistant to insects and fire. Data that we have about these trees indicates that giant sequoia is highest and toughest creature on Earth. Seeds of sequoia is heavy only a few milligrams, and after so many years a giant is grown out of this. These trees live very long, the most advanced age of the redwood ranges between 2400 and 4000 years. In Sequoia National Park in the Sierra Nevada and California every tree gets its name. In America, as in China logging of these trees is strictly prohibited by law. Although they have the potential to be a real tourist attraction, lack of accessibility of the terrain where they grow is making this impossible. However, about ten thousand visitors a year see this tree.
