大部分的语法书、中学老师这样讲解强调句：it is 被强调部分 that 其余部分，而其中的that是不能换成which 的（that可表被强调的人与物，who可以替代that表被强调的人）。实际上，我们在英语词典中却见到了it is … which… 这样的强调句。

第1段中有两个 it is …引导的强调句：
“It is animals and plants which lived in or near water whose remains are most likely to be preserved,” 其中的被强调部分是animals and plants which lived in or near water，所应用的正是it is…which…结构。
当然，目前的中高考英语的标准化考试阶段还是以it is/was…that…此种形式为主。
