A day after his social media company (社交媒体公司) went public (上市), Facebook co-founder (联合创始人) and chief executive (首席执行官) Mark Zuckerberg married his longtime girlfriend (同相恋已久的女
朋友结婚了) Priscilla Chan on Saturday.
The news was announced (宣布) where else but (仅在..) on Facebook.
"Mark added a life event (人生大事) to May 19, 2012 on his timeline (<尤指历史事件>年表): Married Priscilla Chan,"
the page's activity feed said.
Zuckerberg, 28, posted a simple wedding photograph (结婚照), showing the couple against a backdrop of plants and small lights on a string.
Both he and Chan also updated (更新) their relationship status (关系状态) to "married (已婚)."
Zuckerberg ditched (丢弃) his trademark (标志<性的>) hoodie (连帽衫), appearing in a dark suit (深色西装) and tie (领带), while Chan wore a sleeveless white wedding dress with lace (穿无袖白色花边婚纱).
The pair met during Zuckerberg's sophomore year (大二) at Harvard University (哈佛大学), where he first nursed (精心料理/小心摆弄) Facebook as a dorm-room (宿舍/寝室) project.
Chan graduated (毕业) this year from medical school (医学院) at the University of California, San Francisco, according to her Facebook page.
The marriage (婚姻) comes just one day after the company, based in California, made its market debut (上市首日).
Its initial public offering (初次公开发行<股票>) was the biggest opening ever (最大的上市开盘) for a tech company (技术<型>公司) and the third-largest IPO in U.S. history (
美国历史上), behind only Visa and General Motors (通用汽车).
