When I entered into the cave,I received the tablet zaradi,which was inscribed,from between the hands of Hermes,in which I discovered these words:
Ture,without falsehood,certain,most certain.
What is above is like what is below,and what is below is like that which is above.To make the miracle of the one thing.
And as all things were made from contemplation of one,so all things were born from one adaptation.
Its father is the Sun,its mother is the Moon.
The wind carried it in its womb,the earth breast fed it.
It is the father of all works of wonder in the world.Its power is complete.
If cast to earth,it will separate earth from fire,the subtile from the gross.
With great capacity it ascends from earth to heaven.Again it descends to earth,and takes back the power of the above and the below.
Thus you will receive the glory of the distinctiveness of the world.All obscurity will flee from you.
This is the whole most strong strength of all strength,for it overcomes all subtle things,and penetrates all solid things.
Thus was the world created.
From this comes marvelous adaptations of which this is the procedure.
Therefore I am called Hermes,because I have three parts of the wisdom of the whole world.And complete is what I had to say about the work of the Sun.
大意：当我走进洞穴，我看到了一块翠玉，上面写着字，那是从赫尔墨斯的双手间被书写出来。从那里我发现了以下这些文字：
这是真理，没有丝毫的虚假，是确凿之最确凿的真理。
要造出“惟一之物”的奇迹，须明白，那上界之物与下界相同，而下界之物也与上界无异。
那惟一的“造物主”创造了万物，所以万物皆诞生于这同一之源。
太阳是它（惟一之物）的父亲，月亮是母亲。
它在风的子宫里孕育，大地的乳房滋养了它。
它是世界上所有奇迹之父，它有全能的力量。
把它撒在泥土里，它能将泥土从火中隔离，也能让精妙之物从粗物中呈现出来。
它能从地面飞升到天空。然后，它还能再降落到地面。积聚上界和下界的所有力量。
由此你将获得全世界最卓绝的荣光。所有的阴暗都将从你身边消散。
这是强大力量中的最强者，它能超越所有的精妙之物，也能渗透入所有坚固之体。
宇宙就是这样被创造出来。
按照这一过程，从这“惟一之物”中产生了众多非凡的变化。
我之所以被称为赫尔墨斯，是因为我承担了全宇宙智慧的三重角色。关于“太阳的工作”，这就是我要说的全部。

lts force or power is entire if it be converted into earth. Separate thou ye earth from ye fire, ye subtile from the gross sweetly wth great indoustry.
It ascends from ye earth to ye heaven & again it descends to ye earth & receives ye force of things superior & inferior.
By this means you shall have ye glory of ye whole world & thereby all obscurity shall fly from you.
lts force is above all force. For it vanquishes every subtile thing & penetrates every solid thing.
So was ye world created.

Hence I am called Hermes Trismegist, having the three parts of ye philosophy of ye whole world.

二、高者来自低处，低者来自高处，这就是道的妙用。
三、万物皆生于一。

八、从地上升，从天下降，集合上与下之力。
九、如此便可光照天地，令黑暗遁逃。
十、此乃一切神力中最伟大者，无微不至，无坚不摧。
十一、此乃过去创世之路。
十二、此乃未来演化之路。
十三、因此我被称为三重伟大的赫尔墨斯，掌握宇宙真理的三项精华。
十四、太阳之书，于此完毕。
通常来讲《翠玉录》是十三句，但是有些时候会有开头结尾的说明。
我个人的理解，炼金术不单单是“炼金”、“长生”那么简单，它的本质应当是对“唯一”，“真理”的追求。当然，这个“唯一”是很难解释清楚的，大概有点像我们中国人讲的“道”。以前还有一种说法，就是说物质和精神是可以想通的，把物质无限化小最后会成为精神的能，同样精神的能无限扩大也可以转化为物质。炼金术士把物质分等级，而黄金是最高级，最高级之上就是所谓的贤者之石，但是贤者之石又不完全是一种物质，可以说它不等于“唯一”，但是很近似。
那上界之物与下界相同，而下界之物也与上界无异，我理解这句话就是精神和物质的转化，上界是什么呢？应当是一个精神，或者某种未知的东西构成的世界（你也可以说是一个第五元素的时间），下界明显是物质的世界。那为何说“无异”呢，应该是本质上无异，也就是说，有一种本质的东西，一种精髓，是不论在任何时间任何空间都存在的基础，当然我们起个名字叫它“唯一”。
嗯 其实我的理解肯定有很多谬误，限于英语水平和知识。另外第一个版本有一句“the work of sun”不是很明白，我朋友说是“sun”有特别的符号涵义，请教一下前辈高人们。
