Since China is a country whose per capita resources are relatively poor, realizing the social sustainable development is a matter of primary importance to the Chinese descendants.
20.中国资源短缺问题
资源短缺是一个全球性的问题。在中国，这一问题表现得较为明显。由于人口的增长和经济的快速发展，我国对资源的需求量大幅度增加。对于人均资源相对不足的中国来说，处理好资源与发展之间的矛盾，是保持经济健康发展的关键。要做到在有限的资源条件下，稳步发展经济，就需要采取健康合理的发展政策，节约能源，鼓励发展可再生性( renewable )能源。
The resource shortage is a global problem. This is more obvious in China. With the rapid growth of China's population and fast development of its economy, China has a dramatic increase in demand for resources. For China whose per capita resources are relatively short,handling properly the conflict between the resources and development is the key to the maintenance of the sound development of the economy. In order to develop the economy stably under the conditions of limited resources, it is necessary for us to adopt the sound and rational development policy, save energy and encourage the development of the renewable energy.

20.城镇化
“城镇化” (city and town-rization)词的出现很显然要晚于“城市化”，这是中国学者创造的一一个新词。很多学者主张使用“城镇化”词。它是指中国农村人口转化为城镇人口的过程。中国城镇化速度的加快，反映出中国经济水平的提高，但这一过程同样引发了许多社会问题，如农村耕地被非法征用( illegal exrpropriation),农民工进城安置不当，留守儿童(left-behind children )得不到应有照顾，城市交通拥堵，生态环境恶化，城市运营成本高昂等问题。有效处理这些问题有助于中国城镇化进程的良性发展。
The term“city and town-rization”appeared later than“urbanization' obviously. It is anew term created by Chinese scholars; many of them have advocated the use of the term“city and town-rization . It refers to the process of transforming the rural population into the city or town population. The acceleration of the city and town-rization has reflected the rise of the economic level of China. However, this process has also given rise to many social problems,such as the illegal expropriation of farm land, the improper placement of migrant workers in cities and the inadequate care for their left-behind children, the urban traffic congestion, the deterioration of ecological environment, the high cost of city operation, etc. It is conducive to the favorable development of the city and town-rization in China to deal with these problems effectively.
